Noooooooo. I love it. Git gud.
Noooooooo. I love it. Git gud.
How childish. I can't climb this tree while everyone else can so I want this tree cut down!
It's been two months since the OP's post, guys. And he's yet to make any other posts. I think we've scared him enough to get the message through.
They shouldn't remove it, or make it easier. It's one thing to make a game challenging. It's another to just be a jerk. And whoever thought it was a good idea to put that sightseeing point in Kugane at the other side of a ridiculous jumping puzzle is exactly that. A jerk.
I can't do it. I just cannot do it. I've been trying for nearly two hours, and near the top, I overshot a jump and fell all the way back down. I just don't think it's very fair to people who want to fill their sightseeing log up, because most people won't ever be able to do it.
So here's an idea. Maybe, in a future patch, give people who've leveled at least one job to 70 another way to get up there.
What they SHOULD do is fix the edges of the objects in the world; far too many of the objects extend past their visual border and on tighter jumps it sometimes makes it near impossible to find the sweet spot.
XIVdb achievement data shows there's twice more people who have completed O4S than those who did this puzzle. It's not as easy as everyone says.
As with anything, it takes practice. If people put in the time to try and do it, and practice the jumps, then they could accomplish it.
Alternatively, how many people NEVER do the sightseeing log? Those are numbers that the achievement data doesn't take into account.
Just please, SE, for those of us who can't judge distance well, in real life or in game, don't make a jumping puzzle tied to a main story question. It took me hours to be able to show that Kojin how to jump across the rock pillars.
Although it brings it's own challenge, to be fair there are quite a lot of players who actually haven't even done it yet still managed to get the achievement. How? Well using their Eternity Rings of course (if they have one). It's a bit like getting a carry in harder content, but players should be able to accomplish something from actually trying and succeeding rather than not at all. Either you'll conquer this sightseeing or you won't, but that's fine.
Yup, took me four days to finally get it. Most, if not all, the people you see doing it with ease have done it many times. If it gets frustrating, then take a break and do something else.
