    In Palace of the Dead...

...what jobs are best at tanking the end of the run tenth floor bosses when you have no tanks?

Let's assume you at least have a healer and not a support damage dealer. Because we all know there is no guarantee you'll have a tank or a healer in your group if you are running in a matched party. Four red mages are fun, by the way.

Anyways, what do you think? Who are the tankiest non-tanks for Palace of the Dead?

The person with the highste aetherpool on their weapon? Aka the person whos getting and securing the aggro... you really dont need a proper tanky-tank for most of those bosses, or actually for PotD until floor 130 or so...
Class matters little - wether nor not you can hold aggro does - and thats down to your weapon-strength in the end

I've been 99/99 for a long time. It seems that if I sneeze on the boss, I am the tank lol... I don't mind it, considering I'm a PLD main. I was doing PotD as my jobs who aren't Lv60, and I'm usually tank, even as SCH.

In potd, no one will see you slowly die of boredom.

I love this, it's actually kind of poetic and depressing.

Honestly, if you're playing PotD just to avoid playing the regular content, the "boss"'s of each floor do not hit nearly as hard as regular content bosses do, so anyone can tank.

    But...

The ideal situation is for whoever has the "dark red" weapon (and presumably level 90+ Aether gear) to tank. If nobody in the party has one (you can look at what level everyone has if you're not sure) then whoever has the highest rated armor and weapon should do it. That said, the gear is level synced to the floor. So a level 99 gear is always synced downward on any floor but 90's+.

*chuckle* Sort of correct, Kisa. Basically, damage dealer queues are long and I like playing something other than a healer once in awhile. I also like the whole concept of PotD because it reminds me of old school AD&D. Random layouts, random threats, and random treasures, all set in a big hole in the ground which goes deeper and deeper, I could play just this for hours.
