Why can't we just have unlimited housing?

Figure out the costs of the additional server load for housing.

Add "special" housing rental to the mogstation where the cost is split between users (like additional retainers).

Let people who want to spend real life money rent housing on a monthly basis with real life money, reducing the demand for gil-based housing.

Basically let people who can afford it pay IRL money for housing, like additional retainers. And in turn, make it easier for people who can't or don't want to spend IRL money to get get a house.

Long answer: SE doesn't want to admit they may have screwed up on housing and now its too late to fix the problem, so they keep adding more wards and areas hoping it will balance out but people still buy multiple.

That's the point. You figure out the costs of additional server space and use pay-for-use housing as a way to get the money to pay for it.

Because FF14 probably has the worst server structure i've ever seen in an MMO. In no other MMO have I seen dungeons with time limits. Also the shear amount of instanced areas is mind boggling. The ability and enemy floor ability tells have the biggest delay ive seen in an MMO as well, just look at Titan EX. They built A Realm Reborn wrong from the beginning and it would take an entire re-haul again to have good servers.

The lack of real estate is what irritates me the most. I formed a new FC with some friends just before stormblood came out, by the time we got the gil needed for a large all of the real estate had been snatched up.

We have the money, let us buy a house. Shirogane won't be much help either, we are still going to try and get a house there but with the way things have been we are really skeptical of our ability to grab one.

The worst thing that could happen is if they dont add any wards and are just only adding Shirogane and make excuses saying that other preferred servers still have plots available.

FYI to everyone: Large/Mediums in new/preferred worlds are already taken and there are only like 3-5 plots of small that are left over. So SQ Enix shouldn't argue about it.

Or they could implement the housing option that ESO has: Buy a house from the item cash shop and it yours.
