A question about Miqo'te (Possible spoilers if not at Azim Steppe yet)

So, while doing research about Miqo'te, to be able to add a good history for RP finally, I learned Miqo'te come from Ilsabard. However, I tried looking it up on the map and it is nowhere to be found! I am guessing this is because it is not in the regions we have ventured so far. Now my question is this: If we come from Ilsabard, then why does it not show on map yet? Will there be a Miqo'te area like Lalafell in Ul'dah and now Au Ra in Azim Steppe? Maybe we can travel to Ilsabard in the next expansion?
I already look forward to it and kind of hoping to see more about Miqo'te, cause internet so far is not giving me much information about my favorite race...

Miqo'te come from Ilsabard (Do they even do that? I thought they were from Meracydia.) in the same way Lalafell comes from Allagan Test tubes Southern Island chains. While the race originated from there, the current generation we come from has moved to Eorzea. Those islands to the south too are unreachable ingame.

Miqo'te has their areas, being southern thanalan for the U tribe and The Fringes for the M tribe. The rest of the tribes supposedly has their homes in out of reach areas of the realm. The Black Shroud seems to be entirely for the Keeper tribes, but like the Duskwight, we have not seen much of them.

Well most think that but I did deeper research and saw a post about the actual lorebook saying they are from Ilsabard. And I just want to see the original area of the Miqo'te as well as one story about how their tribes work. Instead you get like 4 different stories. They show Au Ra in Azim Steppe as origin, so why not Miqo'te as well? If for all races we will still need plenty of expansions.

Miqo'te lore is a bit complicated because there was actually two great migrations. One that took them out of Eorzea, then another that saw them return during the great Ice age of one of the Calamities. The first exodus was nearly forgotten by history.

Ilsabard IS actually on the map, it's that huge cloud-covered area called The Garlean Empire.

Eorzea is comprised of the landmasses of Vylbrand (where La Noscea is located) and Aldenard (where Thanalan, Coerthas, Dravania, The Black Shroud, Mor Dhona and Gyr Abania are); Ilsabard is the name for the landmass between Eorzea and Othard, which is currently occupied by The Garlean Empire.

And, as said above, Ilsabard being the homeland of Miqo'te is talking about centuries, if not millenia, in the past, the current generations are all over and you can find several tribes that settled in Eorzea and are way more Eorzean than Ilsabardian.

Couple things here.

The world of Hydaelyn is made up of three separate, major continents: Aldenard to the West (in which the realm of Eorzea is present), Ilsabard to the North (where the Garlean Empire originates from), and Othard to the East.

It's believed that, at some point during the Fifth Umbral Era in which the entire world was subjected to a deep freeze not unlike a major ice age, the oceans between Aldenard and Ilsabard were frozen solid, thus allowing Miqo'te tribes situated on the southern edge of Ilsabard to migrate over to Aldenard. However, it's stated in the Encyclopaedia Eorzea that those Miqo'te were descendants of Miqo'te that once lived in Eorzea, but were driven out and exiled by the Allagan Empire during the Third Astral Era. While I know nothing beyond that much, we can at least determine that Miqo'te do not, technically, originate from Ilsabard.

Well, technically the World of Hydaelyn has three major landmasses, Meracydia and the New Continent (to the West) being two not seen on our maps, Aldenard, Ilsabard and Othard making the other as they are connected by land bridges.

Wasnt there some kind of evidence that the Miqo'te were make by the Allagans? Like something in Azis Lla explaining they were made there? Or am I confusing them with something else?

you're prolly remembering two somethings else.
1: the Ixali are pretty much confirmed to be descended from the Allagan servant race the Iskalion (fought in the Fractal Continuum). Besides looking like them, the Ixali tell tales of being cast down from the holy land Ayatlan, which could easily be a corruption of Azys La.
2: There is a... let's call it a fish, that is caught in the Aetherochemical Spill at Azys La called Aetherochemical Compound #123. it is described as having a texture "almost identical to that of a lalafell's skin." While not proof-positive that the Allagans DID create lalafells, it does hint that lalafell were present on Azys La (and possibly were melted down as part of an experiment.)

That's... Pretty much what I said. Meracydia and the New World generally aren't counted among the Three Great Continents, like with Thavnair, the Southern Seas, and the Northern Empty.
