First time Dragoon User - Any Macros?

Hey all!

I have come back to FFXIV out of interest again, as I had to leave awhile back due to some personal reasons.

Anywho - I was previously a Ninja.. but I came back with the vision of becoming a Dragoon.

As much as I'll get a slap for this, I "boosted" to Dragoon through the Mogstation.

I've been learning and starting to grasp the general rotation of the Dragoon.. but just have a general question.

Are there any worthwhile Macro's to have? If so, can you supply them and elaborate on what it does?

Also - are there any opener Macro's as well? I don't expect full rotation Macro's of course, because from what I've read they are a 1 second delay between casting.

Any info possible, would be great.

If anyone has a suggestion rotation as well, that'd be good. I've seen a lot of variables and excel spreadsheets from Reddit. But.. just a little overwhelmed and confused to some degree.

Also - keep in mind I'm currently level 60

Don't use macros for battle classes, it's always a damage loss, except some placing macros for floor effects.

For rotation:

Heavy thrust -> Chaos thrust combo -> true thrust combo -> repeat

For offgloabals:

weave them in like you feel they are fitting, just remember you can usually weave 2 off gloabals between weapon skills, except jump skills, there you can only use one between weapon skills.

Oh I know - that's why I said I didn't expect a full rotation as the casting time takes 1 second between each ability with a macro.

But I've heard some use openers, anyway. Not sure if that's viable?

Are there any Macros that ARE useful?

For Dragoon there are no usefull macros available.

The only macro I use on the DRG is a mouseover macro so I can oGCD interrupt mob casts through mousing over the target list without having to actually swap targets.

I play the Japanese version though, so if you want it you'll have to replace the skill names with the English ones manually.

The problem with macros is that they can't be precast, while normal skill activation can. For a macro to be useful it must be something you situationally activate for a skill that doesn't often go on cooldown.

Adjust your party list so you have a melee friend in whatever slot, change # into that corresponding number. You can also you /tpc instead of <#> but I grew tired of DSing our healers during some phases.

This. Dragon Sight should really be the only macro you need other then that get use to finger DDR.

I use button placing macros for the full thrust and chaos thrust combos but that's because I'm on controller and space is at a premium I've managed to fit six buttons onto four but I wish I could get eight for both four part combos but there is no way. Anyone know any useful macros for controller/ps4 players to help with the bloat? I really wish they had backed heavy thrust into one of the combos to make it similar to maintain.
