    Moving the FFXIV game folder

    Hey guys,
Was just wounding about moving my FFXIV game folder (\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn). I'm getting a new computer in the next few days and want to avoid downloading the game to save my internet. I'm going to pull one of my HDDs from my old computer with my steam games and I thought why not try it with FFXIV.

So is it possible to move the folder to the same location on the new computer?

    Thanks in advance

Yes you can. It doesn't even have to the be the same folder, the game will run from anywhere, even a USB flash drive, as long as you keep the structure the same and just start it by using ffxivboot.exe in the boot directory.

Make sure you also move the folders in your Documents though:

    Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

That folder contains all your hotbar settings, gearsets, etc. That one has to go back in the same place.

That being said, your documents folder can be anywhere and it'll work. FFXIV uses the relative location for the Documents library and not a direct path. BUT your screenshots folder IS stored as a direct path. So if you move the Documents library, you have to change the screenshots folder in-game.
