    Open up the world, please! Part I

    While 1.0 was not without its problems, it was nice how the world fealt truly connected. It would be nice to see the world reconnected.

    The problem with this idea is hunters need to zone quickly from one to the next, and during periods of high traffic, zones must be instanced.

    The solution is to allow a setting where one could choose between walking between zones or simply zoning as before. Such an option would be forced during high traffic periods requiring instancing.

    The other problem is such a task requires a lot of work from the devs, but many players would agree that such an option would make the game simply more immersive, and make the game feel less fragmented. As it is, zoning sort of leaves something to be desired. With the dropping of PS3, I should hope that this option is back on the table.

    Not all should be seamless. For some cities(Ul'dah), between the world and the city loading might be best. But the city states themselves should no longer be split up.

    This would improve the game tremendously. The less loading screens there are the more immersive the world becomes. I really hope this is already in dev

    The devs gave us a choice in this matter, we could either have a new content such as expansions or we could have this kind of work done. The question I ask, would you rather have a new expansion or this?

    So you're asking me to choose between long tunnels to act as loading between zones or a black screen with the name of the zone splashed on it? I'm going to choose the black screen. Most players would just whine that the long tunnels are too long and they want to get through them faster while having no idea that those tunnels are just there to slow the player down so the next area can load. It's like elevators in Mass Effect. People hated them because they were slow, but they existed to hide loading screens.

    The reason 1.0s maps were so copy pasted were because the world was seamless. It's just too much to load with the maps we have now, you'd still have a loading screen, it would just have to be implimented so it could be hidden as mentioned above.

    That's why there would be an option to turn tunnels off, as I mentioned. Not everyone would like the extra immersion. And perhaps it becomes something like... you have to walk through the first time, after that, there's "Quick transit" on/off.

    Oh man, I loved the tunnel loading screens of 1.0, walk through this canyon for 30 seconds so you dont see a screen that says loading, in predictable areas with players popping in and out of phase as they hit the zone wall. Totally immersive.

    I would love to see how places connect to each other. It was upsetting having the Gatekeep out at the bottom of the Sun Throne, I would've loved to run up that!

    Don't compare it to 1.0, compared it to ANY OTHER MMORPG.

    The logistics of your idea are just off the charts. Having an option to disable tunnels would just make tunnels an absolute waste of resources as very few people would ever use them. Not only that, but your "Quick Transit" idea is just a loading screen! While I personally enjoyed the tunnels, I did have gripes about them. I don't think I'd want them back, but then again I rarely do anything that requires me to actually zone to different areas outside of teleporting.
