A study into relations between class, race, and personality

Hey everyone!

I've been playing with an idea: it seems that some classes and races are played by certain kinds of people and I'm curious to see if that is actually the case. So inspired by a Game Theory video on gamer personalities, I figured I should do my own research as well. So for anyone who wants to help me gain insight into this I would like to ask them to send the following information to ffxivresearch@gmail.com (or post in the comments below):

1) Main class (May also be a crafter or gatherer!)

2) Main race and character gender (If you switch often please state your favourite, even if currently something else)

3) Their personality type (of the player, not the character) according to the Meyers-Briggs test. (https://www.16personalities.com/)

Unfortunately, it's all I got that doesn't cost me resources (that I don't have ;-; ) and it's easily accessible to everyone.

If you don't have the resources that's cool. But using an inaccurate test that doesn't provide valid results isn't research.
All you're doing is making up a fake horoscope. Which is cool. But not research.

The reason people find that it "feels accurate" is because it's a biased test that produces the results you expect to get from the answers you choose.
Essentially it's a scam with no scientific basis, designed to trick you into thinking that you are getting accurate insights.

And there are plenty of free personality-ish tests that have some basis in science.

In fact if you look at the explanation of the test you are using, they mention they tried to bring their old outdated model closer to the big-5 model (which has significantly more scientific backing).

It's great that you want to do research. But if you want it to be meaningful in any way you should put an effort into separating science from fiction.

You know, you're being overly harsh - IMHO. But I think you know that already. Whether Meyers Briggs is the pinnacle of scientific accuracy or not, you're talking about a soft science not a hard and fast science like physics... The very fact that Meyers Briggs retains sufficient credibility for HR departments in Corporate America (and elsewhere) to continue to use it as an indicator suggests that your view is overly harsh. The point being it's an indicator, not a reveal all test that get's to the nitty-gritty of the personality of the player.

All those tests are, but I have to say, this one was pretty accurate for me at least.
