Shouts don't bother me, I'm glad they're there but I wish people tried the new search system, it's really well done and finding a party would be very easy if everyone used it. The OP's just trying to promote the new system and in a way he is right, we should encourage people to use the better system now before they forget about it without even giving it a chance.
OP doesn't even know whether the people shouting haven't used the search feature. I used it Sunday and I still had to shout. I waited about 30 minutes before I did it.Hi OP. I think those not using the new party search features mostly do not know about it.
They do not read forums or check patch notes on a whole, which I can't blame them for. It's like buying a game, popping the disc in and start playing without reading the manual or looking up what each of the game updates are doing.
The more folks that can be informed in-game, the more versatility we will have later.
I use both, feels like I get half the party off search, the other half comes from a shout. Wish more people set LFG and put what they want to do in description so I can decide if I want to send them a tell

Honestly, the interface is so bad that it's unusable. If you cannot figure it out by just looking at it for 5-10 seconds then it will not be used by most people.
Get used to people shouting for parties. It's not their fault. It's Square Enix's for not developing an intuitive easy to use tool to group players together.
You know what will increase chat spam? Global Chat.
Also global solution: Introduce /yell from XI that works between the major cities (since yes people do hang out in more than just ul'dah.)
But since that's from FFXI I guess we'll have to sacrifice a few babies because it was mentioned.
That's actually what I meant when I said global chat. I dare say most people who've played WoW would have understood that's what I meant, but I could've been clearer. You know what will increase chat spam? Global Chat.

this is clearly a post to raise awareness of the party search, not an actual complaint about shouting.
I dont have a problem with shouting for parties since it helps along with search, but ONLY if people start using search/start marking themselves as seeking party.
The new search is much better than before, and you've got multiple icons to set for your character as well as current and/or preferred class.

yea i think people are looking at the op wrong, its not a no one should shout thread, its a, if people dont start using the search and telling others to use the search, then search will die because no one uses it. And if no one uses it, every one will have to shout, and stay in 1 main town 90% of the time, which is less than ideal
