No one is saying to completely stop shouting for parties, seriously. The OP suggested using the search first, then shouting if you still need to.

The people who really want to party are gonna have their flags up if they know that the search function is there. People who don't like standing around in town for hours are gonna have their flags up. So use the search, get a hold of those people who want to party but don't want to stand around doing nothing, THEN start shouting for members. That's all we're trying to say.

It's silly to shout when there are people seeking party who aren't in shout range.

It would have been a more effective PSA if he didn't call people retards and sheep while doing it. Turn /shout filter on = no more being annoyed by people using shout over search, because they would be oblivious to it. How does he know they didn't try searching first? But no, he wants to whine, complain and insult other users because "obviously" people must be doing it wrong, even though /shouting has its merits, just as much as using the search function does.

Whats funny is before the last patch in WoW they had a system similar to the one in FFXIV now where people could flag themself to seek for raids. Nobody used it instead they just shouted in trade chat. Which in the current patch got replaced with raid finder where people just queue up and get a cross server group.

I see the same thing happening in FFXIV people not using it and continue to shouting. Different games with similar system, and same result.

Wish people would use the party search system though.

here's a solution. instead of posting about it here, just send a courteous tell to the person shouting encouraging them to use the new search feature. if they're unaware of the new feature, chances are they're not frequenting the forums. sooo... i mean, yeah...

Sometimes a well placed shout can work wonders, not everyone is always seeking if they are considering leveling.

Hell in XI I joined tons of parties when I seen a shout and was like...sure why the hell not. Let people shout, let people seek, both ways parties can be formed.

Same feeling here. Party search and shouting work for different people.

Party search needs a conscious decision and action on my part to look for/join a random party -- something not likely to happen with well connected players.

Shouts are passive on my part. If it sounds interesting and I'm not doing anything else, I might actually join.

^ This is exactly the type of thinking I'm talking about. You clearly don't understand the reason behind the post. And will probably continue to use shout cause of it.

Shouting does not annoy me. Using shout over search annoys me because it promotes old ways that were complained about by almost everyone having to stand in uldah for a party. Now we have a way out of it and everyone continues to shout first and ignore search all together. What happened to all the people that wanted search before ?

How do I know they're ignoring search? Because of forum posts and the way every party leader except a JP one I have been in since the update all shout with 3-4 people listed in search asking to do that who will never know about the shout because they're off doing their thing far far away expecting the search feature to work. Its better, we dont have to sit around. So open it up and please start getting a feel for it???????? We don't have to sit in one spot for 5 hours anymore so if you stop promoting this to be used "first" at the very least.......... Party leader your in shouting? See 3 people in search asking to do what the party is for? Tell the leader hes being retarded and send a tell....
There were only a few which complained, shouting will ways be superior. It is like going to a store see something you didnt know you needed and buy it. Id rather go into a party when it is a party than wait all day, and if i dont get in a party in less. Than 5 min, i use the search feature. Though, ive never needed to yet

If you think its not compatible enough with what you want maybe your not using it right.

Are you setting online status to search people "Seeking party" ?? If you click your name and your the one searching "for" a party are you putting in what you want to do not some silly blank field? Are you making sure to set the online status for yourself as "Seeking party" ?? Its there, look for it....... Setting the class with the correct level? I saw a level 50 con, comment was exp on 26 arc and the retard didn't set his prefer class to arc so he will never get an invite of course that way.
but how do you know they didn't use the search function before they started shouting?
