Can we please get Mythic+ style dungeons in FF14?

Mythic+ is a style of dungeons from WoW with no weekly limits. It allows you to do more difficult version of dungeons in game for loot, etc. Unlike most MMO content it can be done unlimited amount of times throughout the week and still receive rewards. For people like me that don't really enjoy crafting/gathering/leveling alts... I simply want some sort of PvE content I can do as much as I like and receive rewards from.

I'd definitely like some actual difficult dungeons.

Yeah, no, I'd rather not suggest the devs go towards the path of asset recycling dungeons just for 'extra difficulty'.

A lesser MMO would have done that exact concept with the (Hard) dungeons (which is ironically a completely inaccurate description of what they actually are in FFXIV, completely overhauled dungeons that we just revisit for reasons).

Wasn't there talk about implementing actual hard mode dungeons somewhere? Like on par with extreme/savage difficulties and not just by name. Or maybe I'm just being dumb.

    May I ask why?

The community already has shown that there's a divide in player motives while simultaneously the softcore players moan and groan when they don't get to see all content. That's why savage exists- it's just repurposed content.

It's a great way for the community to have its cake and eat it too. You can release beautiful dungeons that softcore players get to enjoy looking at and fulfilling story roles while also appeasing those seeking a higher challenge but not stepping on the toes of those who want to see it all.

Think i mentioned this like last year. Anyway. M+ would make all the dungeons in this game relevant for capped players. They wouldn't have to be restricted to just SB dungeons.

Imagine doing older dungeons with unsynch stats and skills but the dungeons difficulty brought up to level cap with extra fixations to keep things interesting. How can anyone say no to this?

"But they should put their resources towards future content instead" That's kinda obvious isn't it and that's not going to change either way.

"But this is XIV! Go play X instead" I've been subbed to X for over 10 years now, thanks. This wouldn't change the identity of XIV in any way.

M+ keeps dungeon content relevant much longer than just a patch cycle. There's a huge number of players that love some of the older dungeons and personally i'd love to do some of them 4-5 times the normal difficulty with extra layers of affixes.

    Savage is different.

What you're proposing is harder versions of content that was originally designed to be cleared by most players. Savage is technically the standard version of raids that the devs do not expect most players to clear in the first place, the normal versions only exist so players could see the story for themselves without having to join some hardcore raid group. There's a pretty big difference.

Mind you, if the devs can pull off these harder dungeons in a meaningful way, then I'd be pleasantly surprised. But I don't expect that to happen, given how this game's gearing system has been working so far. The end path I see for this suggestion is either something that leads to gear ilvls accelerating once again/the new dungeons begin cannibalizing prizes from other content such as upgrade mats for tome gear, or the rewards matter so little in the long run that it turns out people don't care enough to run it.
