Am I the only one in this community who adores Alphinaud? I see a lot of hate for him on these forums

Nope. I like him, too, especially since he's grown a lot since he was first introduced. I actually like all the Scions, even Lyse (though her voice started to grate on my ears every time she started yelling).

I honestly don't understand all the hate myself.

I don't understand the hate for Alphinaud at all. He has been with us through the beginning to stormblood. He knows he is physically weak but still tries to help anyway. Dont forget, Alphinaud was there with us to free estinien from Nidhogg. He has shared in our losses all the way through the story. Alisaie I have found annoying since the first. I wouldnt even notice if she was gone. Where as I noticed Alphinaud's absence through much of this expansion.

I'd be a hell of a lot more upset to see Alphinaud die than..... Basically anyone else in this game at this point. I get why people don't like him, because he's a kid that has way too much political and military power than he reasonably should only to mess it up spectacularly, but Alphi has OWNED it, has been doimg all he can to repent and to keep from repeating what he had done with the Crystal Braves. He's GROWING.

He's learned from his mistakes. He's more considerate of others. He INSISTS on standing beside you in combat, and has since become a far more powerful Arcanist because of it. Alphinaud at the end of Stormblood is an entirely better person than the one we met in A Realm Reborn.

So, seeing this obnoxious prick of a kid start to blossom into a hero of his own right beside me for so long DIE would HURT ME.

You're right, I hated Alisaie's flippant attitude at the end on 3.55 too about NOT SPARKING A WORLD WAR "indolence". I hope she's free to see the lives spent on this crusade weigh on her.

I have not followed the story at all because I skip cutscenes, but did we legit get in three wars because of decisions Alph made???

Why was HE making decisions at all? Isn't he like sixteen?
