If Alphinaud:
If Alisae, I'd be more disappointed that it wasn't Alphinaud than upset that it was Alisae.

~sigh~

Why do you dislike him so much? I really don't see what there is about his character now to warrant that kind of reaction from so many people.I'm hoping it does eventually happen with Alphinaud. Out of the entire cast, save for Minfilia, he's easily the most irritating character I've met thusfar.
We got a taste of what running around with Alisae is like without Alphinaud anywhere in sight, and I want more of it. If only way back in the 2.0 MSQ during the search for Cid, it was Alisae that walked into that church instead of Alphinaud.
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

My reaction?
"One down, five to go."
Depends on how they do the scene. I probably would not mind it too much either way.
Y'shtola though? Instant vengeance everything-must-burn not-even-the-primal-want-to-face-that glowing-eyes-of-doom mode.
I like them both (and I am not sure if I want to continue playing the game after already losing so many characters) but I was kinda put off by the characterization of Alisaie over the expansion. Arguing siblings are all fine and was kinda funny at the beginning, but she also talked bad about him, when he was not even there. I am sorry Alisaie but I went through way much more with your brother and he does not annoy me. You also will not make me like you if you try to show that you are better..
So in the end I would be devastated if any of them dies, but Alphinaud would hit me much harder.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Same way as any other person who has died. *Skip story* Mmm, havn't seen X in awhile, ah well.
"Great another anoying pr**k who was bossin me around is gone, thx f-in god"
This goes for all of them except Y'shtola and Estinien i'd be really upset if something would happen to those but in the end it wouldn't matter to much.

I would be really sad if any of them died. And then I would proceed to get even sadder for the living sibling because they would most probably be devastated by the other's death.
