Zenos Appreciation Thread [Massive Spoilers]

I would have liked him more had his entire reason for existing and pretty much any choice he made had more substance than trying to find someone stronger than himself. It's a tired and overused trope, especially in anime series. I was kind of hoping i would genuinely dislike him for his actions hoping he was just a vile and evil creature. He's a great character don't get me wrong, I just wish he had a better ulterior motive for his choices.

Zenos was the FFXIV Villian that I've been waiting for: He was badass and He knew it and was a actual threat which was cool,We are a Primal Slaying-World Saving Warrior of Light and Zenos showed up smacked us and told us to sit down and actually matched up to us AND MORE. I wanted to see more of what He could have done in the future patches with him and his studies with the echo and us finding out that it could be given artificially. I was glad that his arc didnt end with typical FFXIV "Ascians did it Ascians did it" way but man with how powerful He was I wanted to see more of his character.

Right? I mean... I really like powerfull evil entites who have everybody playing in the palm of their hands. But the issue with the ascians are:

1 - They are/were immortal. Immortal characters tend to be very boring because they lack the will to achieve things that mortals have, thus become very lacking in their ploting and actions "if anything goes wrong I can always try again.";

2 - They are not very powerfull, it feels like as long as they can not release Zodiark then they just are not a thing to worry about;

3 - They lack individuality, every single ascian we've met thus far is just "plot to release Zodiark, plot to release Zodiark..."

4 - Thanks to the issues presented at 1, every single ascian single ascian we've met thus far ended up looking like an idiot, dying in a fight that they did not have to fight.

The first time I'll give you, though I'm still convinced he'd been given the Echo at that point, but the second and third times he had a magic plot sword from Susano that let him go super saiyan. If Yotsuyu hadn't coincidentally found it, we'd have killed him in Doma.
