Zenos Appreciation Thread [Massive Spoilers]

I've been very disillusioned with the Scions for a while now; No emotion when Minfillia left, was a little sad to see Papalymo go, almost cheered when it looked like it was Y'Stola's turn, kept waiting for Thancred to bite it, hopefully Lyse will be out of the picture soon not being a 'scion' anymore .. I'll probably be a little sad when Urianger goes and I like the twins well enough because I have an affinity for Elezen. (How could anyone honestly hate Tataru?)

Now let me tell you a thing.. I was so emotionally drained after that final scene with Zenos I had to log out and just go to bed. The last death that hit me that hard was Haurchefant, who I still mourn to this day. Do I agree with what he did? No. But I did begin to pity him I guess.. And from that grew a strange form of love for his character. (Plus, having someone who could actually kick the WoL's ass around was an amazing change of pace) That last line just hit me like a truck.

Bravo to the team for writing such an amazing character, boo for killing him off so quickly..

Isn't that what we do too? I mean look at all the people and beings we murdered for fun. For their shiny loot? He's pretty close to a player character in a MMO, mentality-wise.

Well the thing is that the animation make you think we kill them all but look at the dungeon where we fight the maelstrom or the coliseum, we don't kill those dude we just defeat them but they still have a death animation. So maybe we don't kill as much as we think. We surely do kill some people tho tho.

Wan't a huge fan. This was SE's chance to show the other side of the Empire. To flesh them out as more than mustace-twirling evil nazis. Instead, we get three types of ax-crazy in sadistic (Yotsuyu), angry (Fordola) and emotionless killer (Zenos).

They were all very one note. Zenos was strong, but that was all he had. That and the ability to look stoned all the time.

I also tend to prefer the play the more heroic, good guy type so I denied him completely.

I would have liked him more had his entire reason for existing and pretty much any choice he made had more substance than trying to find someone stronger than himself. It's a tired and overused trope, especially in anime series. I was kind of hoping i would genuinely dislike him for his actions hoping he was just a vile and evil creature. He's a great character don't get me wrong, I just wish he had a better ulterior motive for his choices.

Zenos was the FFXIV Villian that I've been waiting for: He was badass and He knew it and was a actual threat which was cool,We are a Primal Slaying-World Saving Warrior of Light and Zenos showed up smacked us and told us to sit down and actually matched up to us AND MORE. I wanted to see more of what He could have done in the future patches with him and his studies with the echo and us finding out that it could be given artificially. I was glad that his arc didnt end with typical FFXIV "Ascians did it Ascians did it" way but man with how powerful He was I wanted to see more of his character.
