Aren't we meant to be able to summon primals as an FC soon too?

That's the April Fools Post that started the whole thing! XDGood news for the OP! They've been working on that feature and wrote a developer blog post about it.

[super inactive on this Forum LOL]
SE might as well bring 1.0 Companions back anyways considering how exploring the Expansion areas on foot and fighting the expansion area enemies area a bit difficult if players do not have a Chocobo Companion out with them unless they're over leveled and over geared. Majority of the time in 4.0 zones players would just have their chocobo companion out to make ground travel easier and fighting enemies easier as well. They had something kinda similar in 1.0 where you where best buds with another "chosen" like you, like someone else mentioned. I liked that idea and I don't see why they couldn't implement it in game, I mean if you want to marry a player marry a player if you want to marry an NPC go for it, it's a game, anything can happen.
I actually think that would be pretty nice. I actually fairly enjoyed it in SWTOR..ah, I miss my southern accent smuggler companion..but do make it option. Not like force everyone into it as clearly there are people who are so against it.
Ahaha I remember that April Fool's joke. SE always makes it good.
I honestly thought for a while that Ayermic was putting the moves on my character. Those sly glances and devious smiles...tease.

That's what I would be worried about. Any character added needs to have a purpose. Even if they're realistically just a storage mule. If SE can get their dumb AI fixed to the point where an AI companion wouldn't be utterly useless, they could be used in the same way SWTOR's AI companions work, but that means there needs to be a lot of additional "solo" content just to serve this AI content.
That's the problem I see with any full-time combat-enabled AI player. If we omit the combat portion, then they're not really integral to the storyline.

I want my 1.0 companion back![]()
<- The real reason Yoshi-P stressed watching all the cutscenes.
Matoya: And that should give you a notion of how sick and tired I was of those spineless wretches of the Forum. All talk and no trousers, that lot.
