A couple friends IRL transferred to Mateus from Balmung, and me and my FC may or may not be transferring from Behemoth, but some of us are worried about how active world content is. Is there a healthy amount of players? And how is the raid scene?

Being brave isn't the absence of fear. Being brave is having that fear but finding a way through it.
I can't attest to Mateus as far as world content or the amount of players. However, for raiding, you'll be able to group with all of the Aether datacenter which hosts both Balmung and Gilgamesh. Last night there were about 140 PFs up and of those 80+ were for the EX Primals. Even in the dead before Stormblood, there were almost always a few PFs up for raiding content.
Exactly THIS ^
Because cross world PF doesn't limit your raiding functionality anymore. We also have several players who DO raid, perhaps not quite on the strict schedule that other people may, but this was before The Great Refugee Movement 2017.
Raiders on Mateus did exist before we became preferred. And they do exist now. And even if it's not quite a group you like, you can always go with the cross world PF :3
Interesting. I thought that was the case. 140 is way more than I see on the Primal Data Center so that's good to know. What about world content though? Are hunts active? Ixion easily killed?I can't attest to Mateus as far as world content or the amount of players. Hunts are OVERLY active. We've always been on top of hunts on Mateus, the new problem being that they're being early pulled and much of the courtesy we used to show is being neglected or down right ignored.
Ixion is -very- easily killed, as well as Stygian Ash always being on hand by one or more members of the crowd.
Sounds like a lot of transfers don't care about etiquette and are just doing whatever they want. Regardless, that's something I'm used to. All good info though, I'll show my FC this topic later and discuss it. Thanks.Hunts are OVERLY active. Yes. More people is always a plus, it will surly help balance out the servers and create more opportunity for players to develop, as well as give more options for players just joining XIV for the first time.
