WHM needs either a DPS buff, or utility

Now that we're able to visually see the power of ASTs Balance, and just how much it makes a difference to the raid DPS, I think we need a DPS increase.

In terms of our own DPS, we're not that far ahead of AST. Yet on top of ASTs own DPS, it offers a good 500-600 DPS to the raid.

Now I'm not saying we should be doing 500 DPS above other healers, but we really have nothing that can compete with that. Our two main mechanics that were supposed to push us ahead, Lilies and Confessions, are mostly treated as passive buffs that doesn't need much attention. It's even joked that we should delete the lily gauge off our hotbars to successfully play a decent WHM, which is a problem in of itself.

If you can actually make something unique and supportive out of confessions and lilies that's fine too, but if not, more direct DPS from us would do just fine.

If they balance around Omega's Delta floors... I don't think WHM is getting any kind of fixing, mostly thanks to SE kneecapping SCH. It will still be a problem long term though, because once SCH is fixed again... WHM will be back to being the only healer that can't buff raid DPS (while all the others can still heal just fine, if not better).

Do you really think SCH won't be buffed in 4.05?

Now whether it will be enough is another question. But then it's back to my previous post. As soon as SE fixes SCH... sooner or later... WHM's fundamental design issues will cause problems once again.

For my part, I'd rather a raid DPS buff for WHM instead of personal DPS increase. In fact, nerf WHM DPS if they have to. Raid utility is the better deal.

...OK yes, and with SE's recent track record here in particular, caution really is the way to go. Still, the ideas are the same. If WHM is OK just because one of the others has been unreasonably crippled... that's really not a comfortable place to be. Nor is it exactly great design.

Incredibly strong sustaining and bursting heals. Very good personal DPS, insane MP management, the ability to Raise people for free (can even Raise two for free with Swifcast and Presence of mind plus decent Spell Speed. But please Buff WHM and please give us more utility than being able to Raise people for nothing. K mate

Right, because there's not some other healer with even stronger heals and the strongest, longest lasting DPS buff in the game...

Atrologian does not have stronger heals than White Mage, at all, also does not have near the same DPS. It has one dot and a weaker spam move. WHM have to very strong dots, assize and a strong filler. Balance needs a nerf, and that's all.

AST's overall healing potential is actually higher than WHMs if you look at the kits in tandem. However, AST's output is limited by their GCDs compared to the massive multitude of oGCD options WHM has thus allowing WHM to have a higher overall throughput.
