    Er, but it's free? It might be minor, but what else are you going to use that gauge on?

    And as pointed out, the MP it generates isn't useless. If you use Sheltron, that means you'll have enough MP to Flash at the next pack even if you do 5x HS at the very end of the pull. Two Sheltron and you gain a Clemency if your healer wants to DPS.

    I have a 30% block rate and 24% block amount so block only reduces damage by 7%. That's inflated by Bulwark so my natural block rate is probably even lower. Meanwhile, my parry rate is about 5% and not worth much at all.

    I don't know what is up with your Clemency, but mine heals for 12-17k. In order for block to be more valuable than Clemency, you need to be taking 170,000 damage in 1.5 seconds. Even with your weaker Clemency you need to take 130,000 damage in 1.5 seconds. That would be literally impossible to heal through so clearly you're talking out your a$$.

    The only time Clemency is worse than blocking is something like a tank buster that will one-shot you if you are casting, then you need to cancel your cast so you can block.

    Exactly. PLD's need more dungeon friendly uses on their gauge, instead of making the abilities work in trials/alliances.
    Giving Sheltron block charges could make it useful, and when you get to consume them all, you get a HS to cast instantly for a short time.

    I just watched a video of a SAM doing a 45k crit followed by a 35K direct hit, and read through half a dozen threads about tanks doing less damage because of the change to str only in our damage calculation. Based on that l, PLD absolutely doesn't not need to be nerfed. WAR and DRK need to be buffed. WAR should probably always sit in top in terms of tank dps, especially since they've killed a fair amount of the jobs utility. Threads need to focus more on fixing the other jobs and less on bashing a job that's just now come into its own. People can argue that PLD was on top in ARR but wasn't anywhere near as much fun to play as it is now.

    i would MUCH preffer if PLD was the baseline that all tanks should be, so in other words imo both DRK and WAR should be brought up to the same level as PLD. this would do much better for the health of the game.
