pvp mounts win not participate..why?

Pvp is a competitive mode. You want its reward? Then win..end of story.

Anyway, forntlines are data centre wide so you may be just unlucky with matchmaking, id suggest you to form a premade with people you know or are actually interested in winning, if you find hard to find people to join you, i suggest you to join a pvp community discord, i suggest you teamtryhard

Believe it or not, it is actually doable.

I was a complete PvP beginner before Garo and somehow edged out 10 wins in Frontline. And that is with months gone without PvP because I gave up before SB drop.

You just have to find a job you are comfortable with and hope for the best.

The mounts are the only worthwhile reward left for actually winning in a game mode which has been nerfed and crippled repeatedly to the point where participation is more important than playing well. Please leave us some incentive to try. Someone out there is winning all of those games you're losing, and with experience you'll find it happens more and more often to you, too.

Otherwise, can I have all of the rare PVE mounts just by turning up and not actually beating the fights?

While it may be doable, the current state of pvp it's extremely ridiculous with all of the AFKing and purposely feeding. I look at the scores after each match and I see countless people with 0 dmg output and 5-6 deaths. Or dps who managed to do 4-5k total dps while a healer did 70K total dps and 300k healing. One of my characters has won 5 of it's last 61 matches.

Please no. I understand where you're coming from in this situation- But, PvP is not meant to be easy. The PvP system in FFXIV has already become extremely simplified with the remove of stat RNG, gear dependency. and even levels. In my opinion, you should absolutely have to win and work for rewards in PvP, and not be handed it just because you participated in it.

Like with any other grind in this game, just keep spamming matches. Take advatage of almost instant pops now, it'll not last forever. You can't really lose because you are still getting a lot of XP so take it as participation reward, and mounts will eventually earn themselves. You say 10 Frontlines wins is impossible grind, how about 2000 Mentor roulettes or 2000 S ranks required for some other mounts?
