Why don't you complain to the thousands of players abusing the AFK boot in the first place?
It's their fault for selfishly wasting resources.

Never had the opportunity to? As I said, I and my peers on Masamune are 100% outside of this issue, yet am being dragged into the solution on a server that has a well-managed population.

Resources. Is that super hard to understand? Whether or not your (or my) server are overpopulated, there's people abusing the AFK boot everywhere.

That's a lot to assume. Personally, I see no one doing it here, and will make a less wide assumption that it's the same across my datacenter. When you don't have to worry about a long wait to login in the first place, why abuse the mechanic?
And even if it were about resources (Which honestly I DID suspect, but I didn't want to go there, it can and will get ugly,) SE saves a few dollars a day by booting/inconveniencing (With no reasonable need,) thousands of paying subscribers on my datacenter.

I got no idea why people would abuse the mechanic, but they do it anyways. That's a lot to assume. My guess is you are not 100% out of the issue. The afk players affect more than just log in queues for the server they affect the duty queues for the data center. On Jenova we have no issues with login queues and we still have people afking all day long. Their solution isn't optimal but it is also only temporary.

Exactly. Flushing those people out helps everybody. My guess is you are not 100% out of the issue.
