Please read, or at least please don't try to get a rise out of me.
I have no doubt that this work, however at the same time it's punishing servers that don't have this problem. For example; I'm on Gilgamesh, the second highest population server in NA. Aside from the launch of the expansion, the highest amount of que I have to deal with is like 20-30 people, and thats on the weekends as well. Granted, I do believe a lot of servers benefit from this, but a lot of servers also suffer. Why should servers that don't have this problem get treated the same as bigger populated servers?
It's like if you have 5 kids and only one of them does something wrong, do you punish all 5 of them?

Probably because there's people abusing the AFK boot in all servers, not just the big ones. Less waste of resources, more for those who need it.
Coming from a server with a 30 second queue tops- and as a DPS main, I feel like it's a small price to pay to give some of the other players who are distressed a better chance to play in an acceptable time frame.
I'm not but you act even Balmung aren't hit with the DPS times because of this. Those who are
legit playing have to stop as well. I don't agree with EVERY server down but I'm not in
charge. Just people acting like it's the end of the world and being rude over it is
getting ridiculous. You're lucky to 1hr to return to the game while others had hours. :/
It sucks, but it's a small price to pay because a few servers can't even log in and by the time they can, it's bed time. Whole day wasted.
Our server is not listed as one of the "full to capacity please gtfo" servers. Yet at prime time every evening 18.30-20.00 the queue has been around 1500-2000 people and has taken an hour and a half at a minimum to tick down. Logging in right now and its gone from 1700 to 600 in less than 5 minutes. Its working for us though I do see the point that as this queue issue has only been listed as being on 10 worlds you would think only those ten worlds would need the measure.
I see the need of this and I see that it's apparently working. Really glad you guys finally get to log on in a reasonable time.
But please don't use the "it's just 10 minutes" argument. Dps have 30+ minutes queue time, dungeons take around the same. For a Dps it's not 10 minutes, it's over an hour we can't really do much that requires us to queue, such as dungeons, trials, roulette,... For people that only have few hours they have time for playing I can see why they wouldn't like this.
It would honestly be enough to just reset the servers with the 1000+ players in queue.
I'm glad that it's working for the people it's intended to work for, but as I stated in another thread, I am on another server specifically to avoid the problems caused by high populations. It sucks that I now can't do my EX roulette when I would normally do them (and therefore can't do it at all some days) because of problems created by servers I was specifically trying to avoid. If you guys get to complain about queue times, I think those of us who rolled on servers specifically to avoid this sort of stuff can complain.
Yes, you're not in charge. I'm not in charge.I'm not but you act even Balmung aren't hit with the DPS times because of this. Those who are

But that doesn't mean I can't complain loudly that they've chosen to blanket this policy over everyone and affect /our server's/ experience for the game needlessly. It's like driving a thumbtack with a damn railroad sledgehammer. Or a hydrolic press. Why even argue with me? For the sake of it?
I didn't think I was arguing with you to be honest, just conversation.Yes, you're not in charge. I'm not in charge.

The snack thing wasn't even ill-intended because there is several things to do in 10 minutes. :P
Not only that, I've agreed with you and others about "All" servers effected so...
Sorry if I seem like I was, I was just explaining.
