    The two enemies in question here are level 69. You're sarcastically saying there's a problem with a class being challenged by two enemies that are 9 effective levels higher. When can we admit that the real issue is that SMN does not have strong tanking, healing, AND damage capabilities anymore? But no other class is a one man party, why should SMN be?

    They should have deleted Physick from SMN/ACN and kept Sustain. Giving the pets drain on attacks or an innate regen or anything would have been better than what they did now. It really feels like this is a vendetta against Titan tanking way back when.

    I mean, yeah... but i still feel like dps and tanks and anything else should have some personal sustain period. I mean Clemency exists, its even stronger than Vercure, if RDM gets Res and bomb healing, I think SMN could get res + Sustained regen. Sustain didnt even last long anyway, and personally in something like ptd using titan to tank, it didnt keep him alive if someone stepped on the mob spawn bomb trap/ IMO the concept is about the same, both vercure and sustain would be supplemental, not nominal, and certainly not optimal. Physick stopped :doing it" at level 50 which is shameful

    If the healers could tarket the pet from the party list and actually bother to heal them, then I would agree. But, the pets are not in the party list for other players to see and most healers don't bother to target a SMN's pet otherwise. The only way they get healed is by aoe heals if we are lucky. This leaves maintaining the pet to the SMNer, but we don't have the tools to do so any more.

    The problem before 4.0 was Summoners had chocobo companion and 2 heals, Physick and Sustain, which lent an absurd survivability to the class. I solo'd FATE's, quests, MSQ duty fights, even the occasional dungeon boss with Titan.

    Perhaps SE could wire Physick to become Sustain for Summoners with a Trait--like Physick Mastery--and balance the potency to fulfill these conditions:
    *able to chain single mobs in succession in open world (not indefinitely, of course).
    *Keep pet alive in raid/dungeons.
    *Even with active use of Sustain, Titan will not last an extended battle with boss level mob or 3+ mob pulls.

    This sounds like a good direction to me. Having sustain to keep the pet going seems like a good quality of life skill, and replacing physick makes the most sense since it doesn't get much use anyways. This helps smn out without making it a one person party.

    As I said in an earlier post a logical place to make a change would be at level 30. At that point you are choosing which Arcanist path you wish to take so it makes sense to change Physick into Sustain when you pick Summoner. It would also fit with the idea that you are no longer a generalist but a pet related specialist. Losing the dedicated self heal of Physick is no big deal as we have Energy Drain and Drain to restore HP while doing damage. At the higher levels Drain does the same to somewhat more healing than Physick so between ED and Drain we have enough healing to get us out of a jam until a healer hits us.

    I don't think anyone would really care about/oppose SMN getting Sustain back. The negativity more comes from RDMs having to explain over and over that the reason why Vercure is more potent is due to RDMs have literally no other way to deal with incoming damage. Far too many people get jealous of the ability while choosing to remain ignorant of the fact we do not have a mini-tank to take hits for us, negating the damage you take in the first place.
