Actually, a simpler solution would've been to lower Physick's potency but have it spec off both INT and MND. Ideally the added MND for Summoners and the added INT for Scholars would equalize the lowered potency.
That or Scholars could've been made INT healers which would've probably fixed a lot of weird issues from day 1 in 2.0.
All this would do is make SCH's healing plummet even further. They already have the weakest basic heal, you don't need to make it even worse.

Well the idea would be that the healing amount would be the same, just that the potency would be adjusted to calculate both MND and INT at the same time.

As a Summoner, I don't think we need a physick II. We don't need to be red mages, bluntly put. What we /do/ need is Sustain for our pets.
Red Mages imo have less mp regeneration than SMN'S(correct me if I'm wrong), so more potent spells seems to be a fair exchange.
I agree. It was such a weird decision to remove sustain.
The problem before 4.0 was Summoners had chocobo companion and 2 heals, Physick and Sustain, which lent an absurd survivability to the class. I solo'd FATE's, quests, MSQ duty fights, even the occasional dungeon boss with Titan.
Perhaps SE could wire Physick to become Sustain for Summoners with a Trait--like Physick Mastery--and balance the potency to fulfill these conditions:
*able to chain single mobs in succession in open world (not indefinitely, of course).
*Keep pet alive in raid/dungeons.
*Even with active use of Sustain, Titan will not last an extended battle with boss level mob or 3+ mob pulls.
I was once a pretty Miqo'te until I started tapping the aether of Bahamut. Now I have horns, scales and a dragon tail.
This sounds like a good direction to me. Having sustain to keep the pet going seems like a good quality of life skill, and replacing physick makes the most sense since it doesn't get much use anyways. This helps smn out without making it a one person party. The problem before 4.0 was Summoners had chocobo companion and 2 heals, Physick and Sustain, which lent an absurd survivability to the class. As I said in an earlier post a logical place to make a change would be at level 30. At that point you are choosing which Arcanist path you wish to take so it makes sense to change Physick into Sustain when you pick Summoner. It would also fit with the idea that you are no longer a generalist but a pet related specialist. Losing the dedicated self heal of Physick is no big deal as we have Energy Drain and Drain to restore HP while doing damage. At the higher levels Drain does the same to somewhat more healing than Physick so between ED and Drain we have enough healing to get us out of a jam until a healer hits us.

Red Mages have less mp regen, But their skills cost way less mana. Red Mage's most expensive skill is 600 mana. A Summoner's dot cost 720 Mana. Using Aetherlfow only gives you enough Mana to use Ruin 3 out of dreadwyrm trance once.
Considering that Summoner wants to ruin 3 as much as possible (in dreadwyrm trance and out) Cause it's a dps gain - 150 potency vs 100. only 30% more potency on a class that is severely lacking damage in the first place.

Why not have the arcanist heal potency reduced, have it scale off int. and give scholar psysick II and a trait. Since scholars have the fairy, they can go for a while before they need the full potency of 400.
