    Physick II for SMN

    With RDM getting Vercure, I was really hopeful that Physick would be redesigned to work off INT for SMNs as well. In terms of design, I could see this being a challenge to have it spec differently depending on which job the player has chosen. For this reason, SMNs should get a Physick II that replaces Physick.

    Physick II would not change in potency, but would spec off INT and have a higher MP cost to match Vercure.

    This is not a tool for playing a 3rd healer in raids, it's an emergency tool/soloing tool, and SMNs need it more than RDMs. This is because of the loss of Sustain. Running around as a SMN and trying to solo FATEs because there aren't enough people in that particular area, Topaz Carby is extremely helpful in not dying to getting attacked by 2 enemies.

    Now that I can't heal him with sustain, I've been relying on Erase which is gated by a long cooldown. If I had a Physick II, I could heal my tank pet when necessary rather than need to resummon him in order to keep his HP high.

    To an extend, seconded.
    Some people will say, well you have a chocobo companion who can heal a ton, why should having a Physick II matter. Well until the chocobo or any other healer can target a pet effectively, it's down to the SMN to take care of it and this will either work with returning Sustain or providing an improved Physick.

    Honestly, I'd prefer not to have to heal my pet at all.

    I'd like it if they gave the egi's a trait that when they hit a certain % of health that a single heal+ regen kicks in.

    Red Mage needs a heal less than Summoners do. They don't have a pet to manage and keep alive to maintain a large chunk of their DPS.

    As for Chocobo healers, I could always spend my seals on plenty of dead peppers to keep enough to switch between healer Chocobo and DPS Chocobo, but right now I prefer DPS just because it's extremely redundant to have a healer Chocobo while I play a healer. I use my companion for more damage, not more healing in that instance.

    Actually, a simpler solution would've been to lower Physick's potency but have it spec off both INT and MND. Ideally the added MND for Summoners and the added INT for Scholars would equalize the lowered potency.

    That or Scholars could've been made INT healers which would've probably fixed a lot of weird issues from day 1 in 2.0.

    I'd argue that rdm needs the heal more than smn does when soloing. You said it best that rdm doesnt have a pet to manage, meaning while smn has titan to take hits, rdm doesnt get a mini tank to take aggro off them. The solo balance feels closer than if smn got a tank pet and a heal at the level of vercure.

    As a Summoner, I don't think we need a physick II. We don't need to be red mages, bluntly put. What we /do/ need is Sustain for our pets.

    Red Mages imo have less mp regeneration than SMN'S(correct me if I'm wrong), so more potent spells seems to be a fair exchange.

    Why not have the arcanist heal potency reduced, have it scale off int. and give scholar psysick II and a trait. Since scholars have the fairy, they can go for a while before they need the full potency of 400.

    I agree. It was such a weird decision to remove sustain.
