Ninja's thought on Ten Chi Jin.

    Hi fellow Ninjas

After a lot of testing i've came up with the conclusion that using Ten Chi Jin in the opener is really not the best way to have a great burst and constant dps.

Even if the total potency is high, it's not like it's a one spell potency, you lose many seconds, makes you unable to use many skills of your old 3.0 burst.

    The best use of the first trick attack for the opener dps and the constant dps is to do almost like the old burst, adding bhavacakra to it, like this ;

    http://ffxivrotations.com/sey
(replace shade shift by hide, I just failed)

This is, in my opinion the best usage of your trick attack and the Ninki Gauge. If you do like this, the next time you will be able to use another Ninki spell, you just have to wait to be at 100 Ninki so you can cast a Fuma/Raiton, then go directly for TenChiJin. at the start of tenchijin your Trick attack will be at 13-14 sec cooldown, so you go for the Suiton combo (which is the best anyway.*) and in this way, your suiton buff will be already here for your 2nd trick attack of the fight. Makes you able to do a bonus Jutsu instead of the suiton to get it. And while the enemy is on vulnerability, your ninki gauge will fill up to 80 again... so it's a 2nd bhavacakra under vulnerability.

I'll make a video as soon as possible to explain more in details what I mean !!
    EDIT: Alright, here it is:
    https://youtu.be/CB-IVJrGB1Y

Whats your thought about it ?

*Suiton combo on TenChi is the best because the crit% rate is less important, it's more easy to deal a lot ammount of damage in the suiton one, cause you need only one crit. With the Doton combo you'll have to get a lot of tick crit. Make the 80 potency gain of Doton, NOT REALLY a gain of true DPS. (too random, beside you need to tick 24seconds or it's even more bad)

This is just some of my own personal conclusions, I come really often on the forums and I don't see much NINJA thread, so i'd like to discuss about my class with fellows

    Feel free to suggest <3
(Sorry if bad english, not english at all)

Well, I'd been testing it myself, but gotta agree that TCJ doesn't look too bright for openers.
At least I have to try it out more on the dummy ones but thats how it looks :/

Well, the only issue this opener has (as I've tried it myself) is that if there is no downtime at all TA is not really close enough D:
Weird as it sounds at least doesn't work on dummies :/
For actual boss fights yea, it looks like its the best (since you have about 10 seconds of effective downtime freedom for TCJ and the 2nd TA to work out).

This is one I've been using and seems to work fine if there is some downtime between the 1st and 2nd TA
And this is another for if there is absolutely none, since otherwise you'll be wasting Ninki by holding it at 100 so TCJ can transit to the 2nd TA :/

Disclaimer: I am far from being the best NIN out there.

I'm using one raiton instead of a Fuma Shuriken during the fight, just to delay a bit so my Trick Attack CD is close enough on TCJ

But if you do it really well, your Jutsu will be able at 94 Ninki gauge, and go at 100 during the jutsu, using TCJ, really fast after it make you at 26 Ninki, loosing 0 Ninki

EDIT: on your second opener, BHAVACAKRA is not under vulnerability

It can reach, with a good timing.
2nd Bhava after the 2nd TA thats with TCJ, no

It is a matter of timing and uptime so yep, I don't think it is wrong to use TA on the 5th GCD given that there may be some downtime.

Sorry to ask, I didn't understand what you mean by that "2nd Bhava after the 2nd TA thats with TCJ, no"

Talking about my rotation or your opener ?

If talking about my rotation; 2nd Bhava under 2nd TA is possible only if you get the right timing on the "26 Ninki" right after the TCJ use (only if you don't miss a single +6 Ninki)
I'll show the video later today !

    Alright, here it is:

(put a music bc i've recorded my mic as dumb as am i)

I just made it a few minutes ago so note that this is far from my best DPS with that rotation and opener. My best without the use of potions and food is around 4,300

I really think this is the best way to combine Ninki and TA

Good question, I have no idea why I typed that or what I meant with it...
But on your video you pretty much do it... nonetheless...

The timings of your video, if I get it correctly are:
    - Bhava when Ninki gets on 84 before TA goes down.
    - TCJ at 106 Ninki (cuz you ate some while doing the Shuriken) to synch the timing of TA's CD at 13 seconds
    - Bhava when Ninki hits 80 right before TA goes down.
With this you effectively had 2 Bhavas in the TA window and managed to trigger the 2nd TA by using TCJ.
Which pretty much is the ideal.
The one time you eat the ninki away (getting the 106) is deprecable as there may be some AoEs that push you away, so its a free window really, and so long you get kicked out for no more than 10 seconds TCJ will chain perfectly for a TA there.
Just that in order to make the 2nd Bhava happen inside TA, you absolutely must not be disconnected from the enemy for the next 20 seconds. Tricky as it may sound, it is pretty engaging.

Funny enough... the timings worked because you used Shuriken instead of Raiton for the most of the Ninjutsus there.
I've tried with Raitons alone and the timings don't seem to fall into place. At least not on a dummy...
Will try it with Shuriken later.

Anyway shuriken is still better since Dripping Blades still does not affect magic damage !!

Sometimes I need to use one more Raiton just to sync TCJ/TA, but in this try I didn't had to ^^

    Sadly that isn't true :/
Even with Dripping Blades II and Slashing Debuff, Shuriken's potency is of 312...
The one thing Shuriken beats Raiton in tho, is Range and Speed, since Shuriken definitely doesn't clip your GCDs, which helps the timings.

The potency is not the only matter, the delay caused by Raiton is mostly a DPS los for 99% of players, unless you have 1 ping

I wasn't talking about potency, just about dps effectiveness

I made a tons of tests and even with 14 pings, I can't get Raiton better than Fuma
