I am all for it, it works and it annoys the hell out of exploiters.
Sure, I get an hour long inconvience each day at non peak times, but worth it so thousands of others can play.

You basicaly made a rant about paying the sub to be AFK. What?
I would also suggets you reading the wall of text called Terms of Service before trying to be so entitled. If you took your time to read you would know that what you're paying for is nowhere near as big as you think it is. Now enjoy your time AFK and go read a book.

The ranting and raving of entitled children who break the rules at the cost of others who do everything right. Well I hope square enix finds a way to ban you so people who actually want to play, can, who did nothing to bypass Square Enix's system.
Doesn't seem that complicated to me? They only started using the exploit to avoid the hours long queue times caused by all the people already using the exploit. With all those people gone, the login queue times will be significantly shortened and there will be no need to use the exploit to avoid them.
Ummm, prior to the 16th there weren't any servers at "max capacity" (whatever that means). Transfers to high-population servers were suspended weeks earlier, and were expected to remain that way for some weeks after release.
Personally, I never ran into massive log in queues until after Early Access started. Over-Population is entirely due to all of those returning players, who had every right to expect their characters from 2014, 2015 or 2016 to still be available.
When you buy a ticket at Disney World, you still have to wait in line.
But I agree that AFK'ers are a symptom, not an illness. SE oversold access to the server, which does make practical sense from a community health standpoint EXCEPT when an xpac drops and all the inactive a come flooding back.
What's the long term solution?
I'm from FFXI and I think the OP is being ridiculous. Also in FFXI you could simply turn your afk timer off, so there's no comparison.
@ OP So far, this is working and helping people get logged in easier so stop whining like a little girl with a skinned knee. This will pass when the congestion eases up and no one is going to die from it in the meantime.
Its working well. No need for a petition.
Guys just give up. The OP hasn't responded and only has 3 posts, each being an exact copy-paste. It's pretty obvious OP made this thread for attention.
I'm in favor of stopping this. This is a poor solution on the part of Square-Enix because it's no more than a bandaid, one that causes new issues.
To be frank, I only have one issue with this. One. It logs you out. It's not that it logs me out for 10 minutes that bothers me, but that it logs me out at all. That means my entire activities ingame are interupted. If somebody wants to do a dungeon, a raid, anything of the sort, they can't. They'll be kicked out. If I see the announcement that the maintenance is a half hour from now on, I know I can't do anything for the next half hour. By the time I'd get in a duty, there would be 15 minutes left before the maintenance. Which means we won't finish in time. Which means that entire half hour was "wasted". In this example I just gave, this maintenance didn't remove 10 minutes from my gameplay, but 40.
We know that the main issue right now, the large login queues, is largely in effect in the most populated worlds. That this system affects all worlds is ludicrous. I'm on Sargatanas. I've logged in during peak hours, without waiting more than 30 seconds, a minute at most. I've seen people AFK-walk in circles, but what's the point on our server? I don't think middle of the pack servers and lower population servers should also be affected by this when it's only an issue on highly populated servers.
In my opinion, keep this going only on worlds where the login queues are an issue. By having this system on all worlds, it's creating new issues for a lot of people that don't even have those issues in the first place.
Innocence doesn't mean an absence of wickedness, nor is it represented by the absence of anger or hatred. Innocence is when seeing others hurt also hurts you. When one becomes blind to the people suffering in the world, that is what it means to have lost one's innocence.
