[QUOTE=Zayedan;4249835]This is by far the worst idea SE has come up with. FFXI never had this problem
1. They should have restricted character creations UP TO the server Capacity.
True, but that did not happen. So now people in High Pops have to deal with it or tranfer with a free transfer
No, they offer the free transfers as a solution if the PLAYER so desires it. If you don't wan't to move, you must accept the consequences.2. Now that it is too late, they should invest in servers to support the increased populations ( not everyone is going to move servers, and we shouldn't be forced to)
I pay the sub too, but have no such thoughts. It is their game. And there is no reason to be on 24/7. None. Again, everyone else gets to suffer due to the actions of a few.3. I pay a subscription to be on the game 24/7 unless its maintenance, this move only shows they want me to pay a sub, and log in when they want me to.
But it IS an exploit if you do anything that dodges a consequence. They do this with each expansion with the 30 m boot kick for about a month or two. Then it goes back to normal. I think it's totally acceptable for that amount of time. Servers cannot handle the amount of people who AFK for no reason, and hinders the ones who want to play. Again the solution is either deal with it (increasing the server is a temporary fix only. It does not solve the larger issue) or move to a smaller server.4. It should NOT be considered an EXPLOIT for staying logged into the game, FOCUS should be on WHY the Servers CANNOT handle the amount of characters they allowed to be created.
Since you basically admit to using an exploit to make sure you stay logged on, from someone whos on a lower pop server, thanks for being the jerk (of many) that started this all. Yes SE makes profits, but if people quit over not being able to play the game with AFKers taking up legit spots in a server......they make less....so yes, this reflects their consideration in a matter I'm sure they didn't actually want to act on. I doubt they wanted to take it this far. But the players pushed them this far. It's not a cheap move. While not a permanent fix, it helps alot of people actually play the game for at least a little while. So as I paying subscriber, I am perfectly fine with this. Just a thought, maybe, if people would stop the AFK exploits....maybe they just wouldnt have to keep doing this....brilliant I know... (sarcasm)5. It is no secret SE makes healthy profits and well deserved, but it is a shame they have gone this far just because of the bottom line, this does not reflect QUALITY, this is a CHEAP move, and making the players who are all paying customers take the heat.
You know, I really did like not having to wait 3 hours to get into the server last night, since folks like you got the boot during the day.
Its almost like people trying to avoid the queue simply made it worse for everyone else and yesterday was proof that, yes, the queue was exacerbated by people bypassing the AFK system.
So... cry more, please.
I'm not against a AFK kick system. I'm against a full server kick though.
SE needs to place a actual AFK detect system in place

To be fair, they could very well be working on one. It's not easy to simply change code, especially something like this where a misfire could lead to them kicking off people for no reason.
If there are 10,000 log-in slots on the server and 4,000 of them are taken by AFk cheats, the servers capacity has almost literally been halved for no good reason. Those people are not present. They have no reason to be on the server taking a slot. Yet here they are. They're not going to be back for 8+ hours, then they'll play for 2 - 3 and go afk again.
If they were not AFK and people were logging out as normal after playing, The queues would move at a steady pace. Alas, They do not, because there are thousands of places locked that will never move.
Its got nothing to do with the number of created characters because under normal circumstances, They're not all logged in at once. Thats the problem. Characters that shouldn't be online because there is no player behind it ARE online. Take them offline and the queues are normal for an overpopulated server.
The restriction exists only to prevent additional players from getting on the server.

Keep the forced logout. Stop being so entitled OP. Go read the ToS. I can't be arsed to link it again. You accepted any interruption of service and agreed SE can do whatever they want. And ffs it's 10 minutes. If you expect to be on a game 24/7 seek help. That's unhealthy.
Also, your OP is a copy paste of your post in another thread.
Why make a separate thread about it when you have already posted it in another? It wouldn't be because you want attention? No. Surely you have a better reason. This is by far the worst idea SE has come up with. FFXI never had this problem

Well..it's already implemented. Just like it and take it ¯\_(ツ)_/.
Is it reset Tuesday yet.
I question whether I'm playing a PvE game with PvP mixed in, or I am I playing a PfG.

Don't forget the forced log out is already been made knowing that it's temporary measure.

Sorry for the OP but you don't pay for 24/7, they never said you will have a 24/7/365 access. They are very explicit about the fact they can kick players, shutdown servers, they can do whatever they want since they respect the law and you agreed with their ToS. Plus with your purchase, you agreed to have a fair use of the ressources they provide from their point of view.
Even if their idea doesn't look to me like a solution, and they lack of anticipation, I can't agree with your way of complaining.
