My hope is that Gyr Abania becomes the frontlines in a recurring skirmish with Garlemald. Give me Besieged style content, it's bloody perfect for Grand Company related content and you can slot Squadrons in there quite nicely... Just have that cave behind Coldhearth lead off to a new zone dedicated to Besieged/Campaign style content with the Eorzean Alliance having frequent skirmishes with the XIIth Legion. Would be a great way to round off Stormblood IMO, assuming XIVs developers can pull off such content (spoilers, they probably can't).

I do wonder if the Rising event was a test for something though... Could imagine a special instance in Ala Mhigo similar to that event opening up...
