Would it be more confusing to see a tank wearing a bikini, or a tank wearing a DOL gear set and fighting with a sledgehammer and pickaxe?

I can understand locking the weapons to that of the same type. I don't see much point in locking the costume gear let alone the DoW/DoM gear. If anything locking the accessories is just ridiculous since these are objects you don't even see on players unless you're zoomed in like all the way. Chances are they have to lock certain types of gear to a gender, race or role because the animation sets just don't exist for those gear. Perhaps all animations work on the bikini and costumes because they have no "bendable" parts to them.

Enough players complained about party members wearing gear with the wrong main stats to pass the minimum ilevel (or to soulbind DoH gear in dungeons).
It is not because of glamour.

Right, but that doesn't stop people who want the same glamour options we had in HW/ARR from being caught in the crossfire.

I honestly am all for just allowing anything goes.
I often find myself thinking how cool some coats from other professions would look cool on a tank, for instance.
Or maybe I just want to wear the same thing no matter what my profession is.

Racial gear restrictions i can understand but purely cosmetic gear locked behind arbitrary gender restriction grinds my gear. Yes, i'm looking at you Aymeric. Not a single female in Eorzea can wear your attire because reasons. If there's one piece of gear i wanted in HW it's that one.

If that is the reason it is a failure since one can't see that anyway. It would also be something which is not needed.

It also means that I have to collect about half a dozen rings/necklaces/earrings/etc from every dungeon if I want to be assured of having one to glamour on hand at any given time. I just don't have the space for that.

I would like to call upon Square Enix to do (at least) one of the following things:

    1) Revert DoL/DoH gear and all accessories to All Classes.
    2) Otherwise remove glamour restrictions on DoL/DoH gear and all accessories.
    3) Remove glamour restrictions on all gear.
    4) Make reasonably easy to obtain (no Aquapolis hunting, etc) dyeable all class versions of things like the Kudzu Coat of Gathering.
Intentional inventory bloat > encourage players to rent retainer space > more income for SE.

The lvl 50 DoH/L AF gears are lvl 1 glamour on the China kupo stores.

    ... No?

Let's go for fixes that don't involve the Mogstation, please...

XI allows you to glamour any piece of gear, from any job, into your outfit. The only requirement is that you have to be able to equip the gear normally on the job in question (e.g. Can't glamour lvl 60 ninja boots if your ninja is only 25).

It adds a lot of variety to the game and is really quite fun. I'd love to see an open glamour system like that move to XIV.
