There are so many pieces that shouldnt be job locked. Honestly other than af gear nothing else should be locked (for glamour)
The new restrictions for white DoH/DoL gear in SB pisses me off. The gear got some neat designs and changes from existing one but... we cannot use it for glam.Instead of more options we get less.
I already have six retainers and I'm still entirely out of space. I was so excited for expanded inventory but most of that expanded inventory is already dedicated to accessories :T
I could get behind this. Why didn't Square bring the same system over for FFXIV (besides 'spaghetti code')?Originally Posted by Skivvy
XI allows you to glamour any piece of gear, from any job, into your outfit. The only requirement is that you have to be able to equip the gear normally on the job in question (e.g. Can't glamour lvl 60 ninja boots if your ninja is only 25).

Funny enough, for Miqo'te, that's like the only gear in the game that doesn't completely clip at the tail. It's the most impractical gear ever and I got rid of it the second I didn't need it.While I'd be perfectly willing to accept it as a compromise, a toggle for 'no-fun mode' where all glamours were hidden for players who hate glamour means a lot of people would be seeing me wandering around in hideous combinations of clipping, miscoloured, overly-revealing nonsense
I'd rather it just replaced all your clothes with generic job gear if that is the only alternative.
Still traumatised from my ARR levelling experience with WHM AF pants and the Coliseum Shawl. Never forget.
God it pisses me off so much that SE managed to do this right in XI but not here.XI allows you to glamour any piece of gear, from any job, into your outfit. It adds a lot of variety to the game and is really quite fun. I'd love to see an open glamour system like that move to XIV.

Or how about going into dungeons as a Bard (after 20 minutes in queue) and to see the ...of Slaying / ...of Scouting armor 3 times each but not a single ...of Aiming drops when the armor is all just a palette swap of the same gear anyway. Even in that regard, with the piece of gear I've been hunting for, the scouting colors have a much nicer blue and white color scheme rather than the diarrhea brown that aiming gets.

I support this.
Be able to glamour every gear if your character can equip it with having the needed job on the needed level.

Originally the devs said they didn't want everyone to be able to glamor everything because it would cause confusion over what role you were. Then they release stuff like the giant pig suit, that any job can use as a glamor....

That's because the devs like to make assumptions about the playerbase when it comes to QoL additions.
Can you imagine how far this game would go if they decided to speak to us lowly mortals first, then take action?
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
