Stuck around for more than a year playing a game the vast global universal majority of self-respecting people consider drastically inferior to any other product around, F2P or P2P, suddenly don't want anything to do with the new and improved version even though it is free to try out.

In less than a year's time the same bitchy dramaqueens will still be here along with everyone else. If there is even one guy who isn't back for 2.0 do tell us and I'll call the news cause that would be a megaton.

well take the first dungeon batral, people came back to try it out, then they were gone in like a week ...mostly there jobs were not allowing them in dungeon or couldn't get people to do it. same with ifrit ...i still haven't done moogle fight personally cause most have there groups to do them with. people were probably having a great time day or 2 doing the nm's for moogle.. another day or 2, people won't even be able to do those cause can't get people. all of those people are gone, weather it is cause of job or not enough people the argument and reason for leaving exactly the same. they can't get into things they want in on. so they leave. i think a lot will just stop even trying to pay for even the months content comes cause of population ...not cause they don't want to try out the new stuff. it's like quitting ffxi and trying to come back with your dkp gone and linkshell or friends gone. you not really getting right into the action. specially not for the month or so you just want to try out and play.

Yes, I agree this game will always have players. But it is difficult on some servers to do much other then soloing. Larger populations do make everything more enjoyable even you cannot argue that.

your right, then the cross server mechanic will make it feel like your playing on 1 regular MMO server. low populations still effect everything else on your own server.

also didn't they say this will be up in 2.0? probably won't matter till then and by 2.0 population shouldn't be an issue or they will merge servers for sure then. it also isn't for things like exp parties or strongholds ...i'm sure most players missed out on the best exp from the strongholds cause same 1-3groups was always there doing it. they probably should make those instanced if best exp from them and only room for 1 group. or layer it for multiple parties like the bird camps in ffxi.

they also said we would be moving to completely new servers in 2.0. that is a year away though and condensing down the low population servers would be a step towards getting rid of the horrid servers we are using now.

2.0 is still coming out weather 5 people or 5 million are playing. So your "discovering of the real numbers behind how many people are playing" isn't doing anything except making yourself feel like you discovered something amazing that will change the course of the game. But it wont.

I feel as if I should be genuinely concerned about what I am not getting. You do realize this is an MMO yes? And that, one of the reasons people play MMO's (key reasons some might say) is to play online with a large community? Regardless if I never even interact with 95% of the people on my server, they still greatly effect me. The more people that are online, the larger and healthier the economy is, the more alive the world feels, and the more I as the player feel immersed in the world. The fact that you don't understand that core concept, especially in light of the fact they are about to start charging, really makes me question whether or not your really a doctor at all. Doctors are supposed to be smart, and these seem like some real basic concepts here.

Oh, and i actually want the game to succeed soooooooooooooo, a key ingrediant to that would be a healthy population. People are just confirming their suspicions.

population is fine for now ,im on one of the smallest servers and there always something going on and theres days people rather be doing something else, happens in all mmo's regardless of how many people playing.
the biggest population games people are only sitting in town waiting in queue or dont wanna do anything there just logged in.
