Discussion: What would get you to transfer servers?

This, to me, looks like the biggest issue. With the gil limits removed for transfer the money wouldn't be an issue for most FC's considering a new home, as everyone transferring could pitch in and get themselves all set. However raising FC rank takes a lot of time. And with the current queues and other server issues across data centers, it is not guaranteed a freshly transferred FC could grind the required rank to purchase a new house by the time Shirogane opens.

Now what SE could do is give a "rank certificate" or something to characters designated as FC leaders. They can then redeem that certificate for the appropriate rank the FC had on the previous server. After that it's on them to purchase the house.

It took us 2 days to go from rank 1 to rank 8. Its not time consuming at all, and that was with like, 8 people. Brought the airship parts, since those were the hard part, can rank them up again, not a huge deal. 11 days ago the FC was established, we have over 600k FC seals atm.

Can confirm that we also raised to rank 8 in a brand new FC over the course of 2 days. 14 people total in the FC with about 8-10 who are very active and the remaining ones logging on once or twice in the past week or so.

I remember one small FC I was part of took a good few weeks to reach rank 8 because everyone involved could only play a few hours at a time. And even then, a lot of people don't really want to do that grind again when there's a bunch of other grind activities they need/want to do. Otherwise the airship parts argument wouldn't be very "valid" either.

I don't think we had mass turn ins of gear, but the very active core was probably playing a bit more than standard due to the new expansion. I'd guess the 8-10 of us were playing on average about 4-5 hours per day with the other 4-6 players playing maybe an hour or two in the whole of the 2 days.

If we did have mass turn ins, I wasn't aware or part of the effort.

Turn ins contribute greatly to FC rank and points. It's how I've solo ranked peoples' FCs to get them to rank 8 for houses and so on for alts. I already did all of my turnins of old gear and so has my friends and FC mates. I'd be spending my time crafting stuff to turn in for seals and rank.

lol no but I didn't see they lifted that gil restriction for fresh worlds until after I posted this. I still would have to be guaranteed housing tho.
