1 account buying 14 houses in 1 ward.

Hello,

This is a major issue, as some people are deprived housing due to players using alts to purches multiple houses on the same server. They then exploit prices to re-sell the house well above their original value. As the houses are priced high ti discourage RMT transactions I feel that this is also a violation along the same principle.

I therefor suggest that Housing be linked to the account per server.. So 1 house per server per account. This will eliminate this issue. Also it would be fantastic if we could share the purchased house across multiple characters.

What do you guys think?

I think one per account is an awful idea because that would mean fc leaders can only have a fc house while everyone else in the fc can have use of the fc house and their own house.

It should be one personal house and one fc house per account. It is exceptionally rare for a player to be managing multiple active fcs so one fc house per account is enough for 99% of players. On top of that all alts should automatically get access to the private home so that players can get housing on all their characters without feeling the need to make shell fcs.

I think making an already restrictive thing more restrictive will only make the flippers charge more. Anything larger than a small will be FAR more expensive from a flipper than it is now and.. over all it just seems like a bad idea to me. What we need is more wards. Or just scrap the neighbourhood entirely and make instanced housing so EVERYONE can have a house.

Can you imagine how much worse this housing drought would be if nobody were flipping houses at all? Nobody new ever getting a new house? Every server charging 50mil for a small house relinquish, not just Balmung?

Then again, maybe something would get done then.

House flipping is when someone purchases a plot with the immediate intent of reselling it. If no one flipped houses people actually wanting to use a plot could just buy it from the server without some [not nice things to say here] multiplying the price on them.

I mean people are constantly buying/selling houses, even if their intent isn't to make a profit. Which isn't to say there isn't people on Balmung who will buy a house for an incredible amount of gil and try to 'flip' it for a profit of only 1mil or so.

....Buuuut what if we physically couldn't relinquish and our ONLY way of shedding a house was the 45 day timer/server transfer? It would be pretty miserable.

Read a Tumblr post today from someone who owned 28 houses on a server and was mad that the rest of the plots on the server were purchased.

At what point is this kind of extreme house hoarding considered detrimental to the other players of the game?

I'm looking around in 'their' ward right now, actually. Kinda looks neat to see an entire ward with one roof+roof color combo.


Just looking at the last interior. But for the most part, remember those spooky animal crossing villages? That's pretty much what their ward is here. Each house with a spooky 'Ascian' underdone.

That aside. They have owned 28 houses, in game, for over a year. Nobody would have noticed, or cared, if they didn't open transfers.
