    Final Fantasy XIV Client Experience Major Slowdown

    I have run this game as max setting and even default settings at times since the first day of release. Ever since this new patch, whenever I have ventrilo or skype open (And in a call) the game will experience 5-7 seconds lag (Extremely lag, makes the game unplayable).

    This has never happened before and I don't know what I should do to fix it. I ran everything as admin (To see if it worked) and that didn't solve any problems either. I tried everything I could in my power to fix this, but I have no progress.

    I hope someone can help me with this problem soon, so I can get back to chatting with my buddies while playing.

    No, they are still up to date and everything. Nothing has changed in the slightest, besides patching.

    Since it has to with VoIP applications that are running... it's likely related to the sound-in settings. What OS are u using? Let us assume Vista/Win7. Bring up the "Sounds" control panel and fiddle with the settings under "recording".

    I do not care for Ventrillo as it's a crappy program. For Skype I use my iPhone or iPad or some iOS device.

    I use Win7, but the problem wasn't there throughout the beta and up to 1.19... It just started this patch.

    Did you try starting Vent/Skype after ffxiv? You could also try disabling "exclusive control" in the sound output properties on the last tab for the output you're using.

    I have tried the first option yes. How do I get to the Exclusive Control options?

    Right click on the audio symbol in taskbar, playback devices, rich click on the active device, properties, open the last tab, click the checkboxes.
