    What about fixing your servers?

Instead of coming with genious idea like simulteanous logout, why don't you just work at fixing your servers?
It's been a week since the official release of SB, every world is experiencing congestion issue, EVEN the new ones (have someone on Omega telling me they waited 30min), so you know what you can do with your free transfer and chocobo feathers. Before even suggesting the idea of transfering (which is not a choice for many because fc and static), fix your damn servers.
And while we're experiencing your inefficiency at taking real measures, our paid sub keeps running while we enjoy the window of the waiting queue which will get even worst when everyone will get dced and will reconnect at once.

Because the servers aren't broken, they are just at max capacity for logging in? This is normal for most expansions in any popular online games. Once people complete SB, max out most of their mains and such things will go back to normal...

Just because everyone else does something doesn't mean it is okay.

I have the privilege of working with server scaling technology and can confidently say whatever S.E. is doing to alleviate server congestion is likely due to both poorly written backend code that does not allow scaling on the fly, and are refusing to transfer resources to increase the stability of their service.

I understand that everyone thinks "hey this is normal" due to both ignorance and repeated experiences with MMORPGs (I was part of that crowd before too). But really, the only reason this is happening is because many are willing to pay for them for a ***ty launch.

    I, however, am not.

How long are you going to punish yourself? Because SE doesn't care about your sub as much as you do.

That's why I'm asking why you're punishing yourself now. You care enough about the game like the rest of us to post in the forums, but we get to play.

honestly the instability is embarrassing Ive seen some sloppy launches but this is pretty high up there Ive spent the last 25 minutes getting 90ked into more 90ks into an error 2002, SE I know the buisness motto is cut corners and over price to maximize profits but come on when your product is getting close to unusable ... you lose money, especially from gamers... re-enforce the servers purchase more server space while putting the cap on it to stabilize it and then you can take it back down to normal after the hype is over.

While I also work with servers and code, every company is different and programs work in different scales. IT"S A NEW RELEASE and servers are working to a max capacity issue. Everyone is entitled to their perspective and respect yours, however from a business perspective it would be a poor choice to invest for a temporary fix that will later become an unneeded expense. Same thing when HW came out, how long did we have this same issue for? Personally the most I've spent waiting on a queue is an hour, rarely have any connection problems and even play FFXI while waiting for queue. If people are so concern, and know this happens why not wait a while, say a month before playing the game? Reason, people are impatient and think their special.

If you work with servers and code, you would know about the existence of many server scaling technologies.

If the backend was engineered to take the above into account, it would literally be a "do it right once, pays back dividends" approach. This would not be a "temporary" fix as I am not referring to adding servers and leaving them there post rush...and you would also know what I am referring to.

And regarding the "impatient special" comment...if you're happy with paying for a service, like an ISP, that fails to forecast and rectify really obvious moments when their QoS would not be met, good for you. I'll keep my money and buy beer or something instead.
