It's not follow his clear. It's "find" his clear...

The only reason I think it's that was because a archer has to have a clear unobstructed space to fire an arrow into his target's butt.

Plus it sounds right. I've never taken archery so I don't know if anyone can tell me if "finding a clear" is an archery term or not.

Any way, that's how I've sung it 3 dozen times... so even if it's wrong it's emblazoned in my mind and I'll just sing it wrong every time!
