Same i logged in only to be told by my fc friends i had 8 mins to play before the mass boot now im stuck in queue again

This is by far the worst idea SE has come up with. FFXI never had this problem
1. They should have restricted character creations UP TO the server Capacity.
2. Now that it is too late, they should invest in servers to support the increased populations ( not everyone is going to move servers, and we shouldn't be forced to)
3. I pay a subscription to be on the game 24/7 unless its maintenance, this move only shows they want me to pay a sub, and log in when they want me to.
4. It should NOT be considered an EXPLOIT for staying logged into the game, FOCUS should be on WHY the Servers CANNOT handle the amount of characters they allowed to be created.
5. It is no secret SE makes healthy profits and well deserved, but it is a shame they have gone this far just because of the bottom line, this does not reflect QUALITY, this is a CHEAP move, and making the players who are all paying customers take the heat.

Odin here, marked as congested server. No queue before mass-boot, 526 after.

So no, don't think there was any benefit. Only disrupted my gaming.

Yeah but it only takes 5 mins in that 500 odd queue to get back in. Not 30 like it would usually. Everyone is trying to log in at the same time so there is going to be a counter to trickle them in. As long as it doesn't take hours and this is benefiting the players trying to log in later then I expect it is here to stay for now.

To answer someone's question yes it worked for congested servers. After the boot for Balmung my queue was 1,082 that would of taken one to two hours before to get through that. It took 20ish something minutes.
Later on when I got off work and logged in around 10:10 the queue was 724 and again only took another 20ish minutes to get in.

Before the mass logout I got into the last story trial as a DD within 10 minutes maxium...now I am already waiting nearly 30 minutes for it to pop..on top of losing the chance to win with the group before that, the 10 minute downtime and the waiting in queue to get back in..this feels not good as a customer..

Guess we'll see how it affects prime-time queues, but haven't really noticed any large/slow queue on Odin lately.

Did it work for the larger servers though?
I'm highly curious about that, I can handle a small queue for my server as I know I'll get in pretty fast but what about the servers that "needed" this? Was it any good or are they still at a xk queue?

Number of players in the queue was not the problem this is intended to fix...

The problem is ther servers being at max capacity with people who are afk and will never get off.
This causes the queue to be unable to proceed since no one is getting off the server.

Dropping those afk people frees up server space for people who could actually be playing.

Please direct all your salt towards the dried lakes of The Lochs while everyone, even the ones logging out faithfully every night before praying for quick queues and going to bed, gets punished with this crap now. Thank you for your patience.
