I was not aware I either complained about the queue or personally punished you for staying where I am. I *expected* the queue, and planned accordingly.

Pick your friends and move to a new server.
The friends have to pick their friends too.
And those [...]
It's not as easy as you all claim it to be.
Sure it is. Saturday I got pissed off from the 3K login queue, which was literally not moving, went on discord to get myself removed from my free company and transferred.
Now I'm making new friends, which isn't that difficult if you put yourself out there.

My initial reaction was this was pointless 'solution' since the announcement alone defeats the purpose. Giving it some further thought, if they do this around say, 3pm EST. That will likely catch people who left their games on while at work. On the other hand, if they do this at 7-8pm EST, it's useless. Most people will be either home from work or getting home if they're on western time. Thus, you'll just thrust everyone into a queue all at the same time. So really, this all depends on when they do it.

I get the feeling this is just the start. If people don't voluntarily start clearing off Balmung and Gilgamesh you can probably expect a server split. Move together while you have the chance or be forced to move later.
This will never happen they have the server on lock down and people are leaving in a couple of weeks when the expansion rush dies down it will be a non issue again until 5.0 and by then population should be more manageable.
If they keep the server closed to creation and transfers it can only go down and it will go down as inevitably people stop playing and some will transfer to play with friends who cannot join the server.
Once the expansion rush ends the queue won't be an issue like it is the rest of the time, people have this impression Balmung always has a long queue but it simply doesn't at most it can take 1-3 minutes if it's a patch launch day or something.

This makes me wonder how many people are actually afk because there would have to be hundreds to thousands for this to even make sense. Otherwise you are just going to have massive congestion after the 10 minutes with no guarantee that the waiting players are even going to get in.

In my opinion.... the developers banking on people getting bored with the game and leaving, and designing their infrastructure around that "low population" period, is absolutely pathetic. What happens during 5.0 or 6.0 when the 'non expansion rush/normal' population levels might be higher than what they are now? We could theoretically be permanently stuck with this once-per-day timeout thing, and then they'll have to go and add another band-aid onto the pile.
Yoshi /facepalm!
