My money says these are the same people that will speed past everyone in the turning lane and try to merge and cut someone off at the front of the line in the opposite lane.
I learned you're actually supposed to do this in some situations - it's called a zipper merge. Not turn lanes though. For those, you're supposed to leave a gap in front of you at all times so people can merge without interrupting the flow of traffic. There's a cool video on it on YouTube called 'Traffic Waves' that explains it.

All that aside, I agree - this is more like people cutting the line at Disneyworld and saying "it's just one person" - well, it's you and another 2000 people, meaning 2000 other people can't even log in at all.
