Nobody could have known after the devs told you a moth before that login queues would get horrible and already said they planned to add incentives for people to leave large servers. Nobody could have known when all players started shouting at early access: "Of course so many people would come back! You should be doing something about it!". But now they do actually try implementing a quick fix that doesn't take months to develop, nobody could have known.

If someone was hosting 30 parties, but only one of them had music, where do you think most people go? Balmung was touted as THE only option for RPers for so long. For many players, a queue & transfer fee were a small price to pay for actually enjoying the game. It makes perfect sense for people to go there.

But blaming players "100%" is also blaming them for there not being a fix to this a long time ago. Yes, people chose to go there, but blaming the players entirely for the current problem is like blaming the patrons on the Titanic for there not being enough life boats.

I think this is mainly to show that they are aware of the problem, though I think the action is not useful.

I play on Famfrit, and Famfrit hasn't had a long queue time since early release. EA the highest I saw it go was like 300-400. Once EA ended, we were only in double digits. And now, for example yesterday, I was only 7th in line. We haven't had problems in a week or two and I don't see anyone doing the AFK method. And now, because of people on Balmung, and maybe others, it is going to affect us now. I really don't see how that's fair. Yes yes I know I will be told I can log back in as soon as the 10 minutes are up, but I'm losing 10 minutes of gameplay I(and other people on my server) could be doing, maybe more when you consider dps queues, because of other server's problems.

This isn't just a Balmung problem. I play an alt in Ragnarok (EU) and I get 2k+ queues there as well. So it's very alright for them to apply this on several Data Centers.
Perhaps queues won't be big after each boot, since tons of AFKers will disappear. We should wait and see how it goes.

Wait, what is the actual plan?
Was there a set time that they would randomly pick?
Would this ever happen during peak times?
Does it effect everyone at once on the data center or will it only be for those who have been on for more than like an hour?
I do not see warnings when I am in a dungeon or raid from the system message till I leave and return to the server. Are they changing that to also send the warning out across the instance servers too?
How come they could not code a way that if there was no input detected after X time that you log out automatically? Why does it have to be coded that if you are standing around and not interacting with an NPC or marketboard, etc.?
Will this be only on the servers that have a queue time for the data center or are all the servers being kicked off at once?

It's actually only Balmung. Last night was my last night on Gilgamesh and when I logged in at prime time the queue was only 19. It literally took me 10 seconds to get on to Gilga.

I think patching actions that circumvent auto log out would be better soluttion.

SE, I am sorry to have to say you need to do something like in WoW, but you do! They have a way that you bounce between worlds and can have friends on your friends list that are on different servers. When you join a person's party that is not on their server, you transfer over to their server temporarily just like in GW2. You can have people from other servers be in your guild, just you will not get the perks, but you can still chat with this across servers and whisper too.

If you implement something like this, then people can do FATEs and hunts together from different servers. This will help with those who still do not want to server transfers to do so.

Then the only problem you are left with is those who will not transfer due to housing. A simple fix for part of it is stop having some items get destroyed when it is removed. Instead, have it get sent to the reclaim guy for whoever first placed the item.

Then you are left with 1 problem, plots being available. Which that leaves me with 1 question about that: How come you cannot build any type of building on any lot? Why are some lots limited to small while others are limited to large? Why not make all lots the same and you pay a certain amount to build a certain kind of house on that lot? And if you first bought a small house for the lot, then you can destroy it and build a new bigger one on the same lot. Why was it not done this way?
