    Help please, BIG LAG

    Hi,

First, sorry for my bad english.

    So, i have a problem:

    I play on Windows 10
    5k screen (5120)
    Graphic Card : AMD Radeon Pro 580 , 8Go
    Proc : i7 skylake 4.2 Ghz
    Ram : 16Go DDR4
i can play in ULTRA graphics level with some recent games like MASS Effect Andromeda for example.

When i put the resolution in FF14 at 5120 and maxiums details : its unplayable. 10 img/s
    ??? I dont understand why???
even in LOW details i only have 30 img/s
when i put my resolution on 4k (3840) : i can play at midrange details with 30 imgs
when i put the resolution on 2555x1440 : i can play maximums details at 55 imgs/s , wich is good but not 60/s

so wtf, i think my computer is powerfull enough to play at max resolution.
    if someone could help me.....
    thank you

With the current release, they up the demand on the graphic a bit with the lighting now that PS3 is no longer supported.
Taking a look at this: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-Pro-5...Force-GTX-1080 I can see that your card is not as powerful in clock speed, but RAM on it is slightly faster.

So, that being said, I am not shocked if this graphic card struggles to push 5K. You need 6GB for 4K. So, I am believing you may need 10+ GBs for 5k to reach 60fps (frames per second) with high clock speed for this game.

Now, as for why you are only getting 10fps, I believe that could be due to setting configurations. As someone who hates the drivers for AMD in the past and stuck with Nvidia, I do not know how they are now. But I would tweak some settings for the following reasons:
    1. Try turning off the AA in the game. It eats up fps for poorly done AA. Especially at 5K, it does next to nothing other than blurs the edge of things.
    2. Tweak the settings in the control panel of the drivers, I think it is call catalyst for AMD. You will want to check things like triple buffering and other performance settings.
    3. Make sure the card is getting the right voltage when you are playing. Slightly under the voltage amount means the card is going to run slower.
    4. Make sure the card is not actually overheating. In some cases, it could slow down the card first before shutting the computer off.
    5. Check the power settings in Windows (Advance settings). There are some that effect the PCI Express and Display performance.
    6. If you are using the Windows creator update (I heard that this was pushed out as release this past Friday), you may have to disable the game mode. You will need to Google on how to disable it, since I have not tried yet. I know it is somewhere in the setting option (the gear symbol you click when you click the start button).

Hope these help and sorry that I could not provide much more concrete response. Just looking at the specs alone, I believe you should be getting at least 30fps at 5K if not 60fps.

I would say WTF to the user buying a 580 and expecting to max out a game and get 5k resolution!

It is a budget card!!! Even if you were one of the guys who just bought it for $600 due to mining craze, it is not a great gaming card for anything above 1080P!!

If you just bought this recently and paid over $300 for it, return it and grab a 1070. if you've had it awhile, sell it on eBay for $400-$500, then grab a 1070 or a 1080 and then you could run a higher resolutions.

an old nvidia 980 will run this game faster,
Don't believe me? Drop to 1080p and run the SB benchmark and look for comparison scores.

This game also runs like poo on all amd cards.

Xeon, you do not need to put so many !'s. Your posts are not helpful though.

As for the power of the graphic card, yes, it is not as powerful as some of the higher end, but that card should be able to get more than 10fps on 5K, just not with max settings. True, if he wants 60fps, he needs a much more powerful card.

I been wanting to swap to using a 4k ultrawide monitor, but I cannot since I have a GeForce 980 (not TI), which I know that cannot 4K at 60fps.

That card *might* score 10k on the benchmark running in 1080p with a skylake or kaby lake cpu. Most of what I've seen is in the 9000 range. An old 980 running on a first gen I7 can crank out 11k on this, as well as an 1060 3gb.

Post not helpful? Do you know that the OP can trade that card for a 1080? Which is like 3x as powerful? Without paying cash? Sounds helpful to me.
