    A weeks worth of lvl 70 WAR

    So as most people I too disliked and complained alot about Warrior changes in 4.0. After having spent a week as level 70 and running the last two dungeons I have felt more comfortable in my role.

    To start depending on the skill of my dps with me depends on my opener. Higher end dps has me beserk>tom/op>inf>unchained>op>upheavel aggro combo. Single target ill maim and storms path/eye while weaving upheavel and onslaught when needed. (also weaving def cds where needed) Aoe combos hold the same opener but i will weave UH and OS between targets with aggro combo OPs and Steel Cyclone when available popping beserk off cd for both. I havent really ran into any aggro Issues or TP issues especially if there is goad. Though SMN\\\\\\'s (especially skilled ones) can make it harder for aoe trash pulls to hold aggro.

    Overall I\\'ve enjoyed learning to compensate for what we as WAR now lack. With a few tweaks i think WAR can become a a well rounded tank for begginers and veterans alike.

    Also i understand my rotations might be subpar but itis what works with my play style haha.

    The problem is more so that no matter how hard you try, a DRK or PLD of equal skill will always do better.

    Now I have pld and war on lvl 70 and been farming both extreme trials.
    Gauge bar comparison.
    Comparing the penality to switch instances is a joke. On pld I will switch anytime, pld has only 2 skills tied to it. At Suzano as OT after the first phase ends God forbids I have not been able to burn the damn gauge as war. Just want to switch to eat some orbs and grab that sword, in the end I would just eat them on deliverence because of the penality.
    Penalty for instance switching on any tank is dumb really. The more penalty I have the less I go back to tank instance.
    Pld rotation is Soo sweet. Everything happenes in 1 minute. It's so easy to aling with other DPS buffs.
    War rotation it's at most clunky and broken. Everything tends to break your cooldowns.
    As pld I had more utility. Hey MT grab this intervention. Hey party damage stack? Let's do it shiny with arm!
    War utility? The silence
    DPS? Most of the times I would no more DPS as PLD them war.

    It's not the fact that Warriors are still able to tank and hold agro that people care about. ALL tanks can do that! But before, Warriors could tank and hold agro... BUT then you could also switch to Deliverance in the middle of the fight you were tanking in, and throw in 3 Fell Cleaves. It was fun during bosses, being able to put up high damage and sometimes even coming close to your DPS.

    NOW though, if you're tanking... first off, if open up with Unchained, there goes your SUPER AWESOME LEVEL 70 SKILL! It's gone for 2 minutes. But hey, don't worry - maybe it'll be back up when the boss is almost dead. So you're forced to open up without Unchained if you want to use your new "fun" mode. And while that works just fine, you still have to build a considerable amount of enmity if you are planning on switching to Deliverance. And once you DO switch to Deliverance, there goes half your bar!

    So basically, you could go: Overpower -> Eye Combo -> Onslaught -> Butcher's Block Combo -> Upheaval and then change into Deliverance with 0 gauge. Congratulations! You now have to do 2 full combos to get to 50% Beast Gauge, so you can then Infuriate, pop Inner Release, do your 4 Fell Cleaves, and hope the DPS hasn't managed to pull the boss away from you during that time. Because I've been doing this with STR accessories and I'm pretty sure if I was wearing VIT, I would have lost it.

    Now imagine if we could build up our Beast Gauge bar to full on Defiance, thus making sure we have enough agro on the boss, before then switching to Deliverance and doing our Fell Cleaves with Inner Release. THEN we could go back to Defiance and hold the enmity. We'd be able to do this every TWO MINUTES, so I don't see how that is anywhere near "broken" when you compare that to Paladins who can just Sword Oath every minute and spam the crap out of Holy Spirit, without having to "set things up" the way Warriors do. Which one do you think is more fun to play?

    ...That was a trick question by the way, because the correct answer is still Warrior. But Paladin just feels better to play, if... you uh, ignore the boring animations and sounds, and hmm... take utility into account. Yep! Still sticking with Warrior despite the drawbacks.

    A week of level 70 WAR gave me time to hit 70 PLD last night, which I'll be playing in most content from now.

    I love war, always have and I've mained my war from 2.0 onward. But at 70 it just feels.. unfun? My fc talking about how great their classes are, how smooth things are. I'm over here spamming buttons and hoping I don't break my own combo chain. After trying out Pl, even in the 50 range I can feel how smooth the skills go together. I can use an ability and not break my combo.. I want to love my war but I feel like I'm more of a hindrance to the raid then if I just re-rolled as a pld or Dk .. =/ (though I was told in game i must be a bad war tank as they are in a great place now).

    Lol i was explaining my experience playing WAR with how i do my rotation. I know whats wrong with WAR but tried a different approach rather then the salty WAR threads ive been reading. Yes warrior is weak in comparison but it wont stay that way. So everyone needs to calm down chill out and enjoy the game until we get our changes.

    I like the new beast gauge, but the swap penalty is just annoying. And with the hit to damage via VIT changes, enmity is harder to maintain. I find even in the old 60 dungeons its harder for me to swap to deliverance on a boss for a while, because DPS catch up so fast on threat.

    WAR is definitely viable, no question there, they still have decent damage output and good mitigation. But its just not quite as fun as it used to be. I've yet to try 8 mans outside the story fight, but running with a PLD I felt pretty worthless. PLD could help heal, pump out damage, mitigate, and still have passage of arms and divine veil for most of the big ultimate attacks. Mean while all I have is an axe to hit things, and probably not much harder than the PLD with their new DPS toys.

    Meanwhile leveling PLD, and despite not having as flashy of effects/sounds to go with their attacks (seriously holy spirit and total eclipse are pretty unimpressive sound wise), I feel like things flow better. I can run in and FoF spamming my melee combos, the when it wears off holy spirit spam, once MP is drained goring blade needs to be reapplied and FoF should be almost off CD.

    Right now PLD just plays better and brings more to the table. WARs not bad, but not as satisfying and feels like a bit of a burden with no utility.

    Yes warrior is weak in comparison but it wont stay that way. So everyone needs to calm down chill out and enjoy the game until we get our changes.
    Sure it will be fixed, but the question is how and when? It took PLD a whole expansion to get fixed, they only got a few band aides through HW. People would rather not look forward to 2 years of their favorite job being weak. The sooner people call attention to the issues the sooner the devs will take it seriously.
