Two Computers; One Account - How do I avoid locking myself out?

As the title suggests, I have two computers. I have a desktop in a room that gets hotter than the sun when the temperatures climb, and a laptop that I use to retreat into a cooler spot in my house during these times. I wanted to play FFXIV on the laptop during such a time (I mainly play on the desktop), downloaded the game and installed it, but when I went to sign in it immediately locked down on me. I don't want to have to deal with the headache of having to reset my password every bloody time I want to play the game on either computer, temperature depending. Is there any way to make the game recognize my two computers so that it won't do this to me every time I want to play the game?

After you reset password once or twice it will recognize your other login location.

Use the security token app. It's a good idea in any case.

That's weird. Every other week I have to play on a laptop as I travel and I have zero issue playing between the 2. All I do is transfer my UI settings when I change over.

Do you have an authenticator? I'm wondering if you not having an authenticator would result in it not trusting you moving computers? That would be my only guess for you being locked out.

Use security token and won't have to worry about get accounted locked and having to change password.

I've never had that issues, and play on either mine or the hubbys laptop, as well as the PS4. Do you have the token?

As everyone else has mentioned. If you have a security token, or the security token app on your cellphone you shouldn't need to worry about that issue again. just understand if you choose to use the token/app, you will need to have access to the token/app everytime you choose to log in. So if you travel, make sure you take it with you!

(Also, for the iOS/Android app version, MAKE SURE YOU WRITE DOWN AND SAVE THE RECOVERY CODE unless you wanna spend a long time on the phone waiting to recover your acct should you ever lose your phone, remove the app or get locked out of your acct for whatever reason.)

Regardless, the token/app offer an extra layer of security to ensure you're acct never gets hacked and also enabling a token will allow you to choose one of the Aethrytes in-game as a free destination that will cost ya ZERO gil.
