Launcher won't launch after steam updates

Has anyone else have this problem? Last night my girlfriend and I were playing the game, no problems. No issues at all. So when she got up and tried to get on. Steam would update, but nothing would pop up. It won't open up from her trying to open it again. Rebooting her laptop won't even work. Steam works just fine for me. I've had the same issue at times before, and rebooting has worked to fix it, but it isn't for her.

I remember reading another topic of the same issue that the updates do not work correctly through Steam. I thought someone had recommend that you do the update with the ff14 launcher and then run the game through steam.

It's fixed it seems. . . she didn't even do anything to actually fix it. Steam . . .
