    Tank Learning DRK

So I've got my NIN(Main) WHM(played since beta) and started playing some DRK that I got all of them to 70, so I have a general understanding of all the roles, I've noticed when I play healer in the dungeons the Tanks are absolutely getting wrecked, I feel like they are barely using any cooldowns is this a standard for normal dungeons?

When I tank just want to make sure I can make the healers job easier? What if any cooldowns do you guys normally use on mobs when your pulling the 61-70 dungeons?

some tanks don't use cooldowns, but theyre disapproved of by other tanks too. generally rotate your cooldowns, the order of which depending on the number of enemies pulled. as a drk i usually go rampart/ anticipation to shadow wall to convalescence and decide from there whether i need more.

First of all, Blackest Night is amazing and you should abuse of it if you have the MP

If you are fighting just one group (3-4 monsters), you shouldn't need cooldowns. The best you can do is use Low Blow to stun enemies and keep killing

If you are going for bigger pulls, Blood Price and Dark Arts + Abyssal Drain helps a lot keep your HP up. Convalescence also synergizes well with this combo. You could pop Rampart as well to reduce damage taken

Anticipation is a good pick if you need a bit more of defense (parry is clunky, but it's worth the shot if it's your only option)

Shadow Wall is incredibly bad and I don't really see any real application for it because of the low duration. You shouldn't need Living Dead either. If it happens that you need to use it, just pull your internet cable and wait until the party kicks you so you can find a better group

I always get a feel for the fight. Initially it seems healers will gauge my loss of HP, which is low ATM as i crawl to 70. So if im at 50% ill pop rampart or convalescence to allow the healer time to get me up. If i pulled a giant wave ill pop all three which gives the healer time to set up and begin healing. As a healer main i try to make it easy for them to keep me alive. Plus if youre not using your cooldowns are you really having fun as a tank?

i wouldnt suggest using all your cooldowns at once. healers have their own cooldowns to use in a pinch, and if all yours and their cooldowns are gone, but still the same number of enemies alive, oure going to be in an even stickier situation. not to mention diminishing returns from stacked cooldowns, exceptions being anticipation/ bulwark with awareness (dont use anticipation and bulwark together though) and conv with a damage reducing cd
