So.. We got player Search Finally

After about a year of complaining that its not in the game.. So now its in the game now and it is totally functionable Player search, and I still see people shouting. so I shout and ask why no one is using the player search people cried about for a year. They said.. "Shouting is easier" :/.. why in the world do we have a feature that so many have wanted.. then go ahead Contradict that statement and not use it. I just feel like this Feature was such a waist of time, for player reasons ( not SE fault).

I'm just Curious as to why this feature that was cried over 1 year for, and is not being used. ( please don't take what I said out of Context, its how I feel about it right now, maybe it will change over time, I just feel that no one seems to want to bother using it, after I informed them that it's there).

Shouting is always easier, so those morons weren't even going to use a well-made search function anyway.

That being said, last night I used the search engine to ask random people I found about what they thought of the new search feature. The 5 people I asked said they thought it was an improvement and 2 said the party they were in when I asked was formed thanks to it, and I'd put my stock in 5 people actually playing the game than anyone around here any day. So it seems that at least on Mysidia, it's a success.

More alarming to me however was the fact that nearly every person I searched had almost all their classes at level 50, which just serves to add fuel to the "we really need more stuff to do" argument.

I probably would use both, but I understand.

I dont like the search feature, I feel it is still very badly designed. It has too many forms to fill out and requires like 30 clicks and several windows just to seek.

It is also the fact its been too long. XI suceeded because it had a shoddy system and then commands, commands are easy as shouting because its doing the same thing. Not to mention XI's seeking was a simple Toggle button.

its all about ease of use, and finding what you want. The search function wont be very popular until text commands come in.

Changing from /sea all to /sea all pug is a lot easier than going back into party, toggling pug n hitting search again.

I'm well enough with searching fo-- names, fo--jobs, fo--levels, getting a list who and where. I find gathering intel a nuisance when I have to ask what zone you're in. SE should be on top of this alredy by now. Also, if your party member is in a different area, atleast show us in text what area/zone or map he/she is on! I dis-like reading '???' all the time.

When your in town shouting is a lot easier and faster. But when your already in a PT and some one has to go that's when the search becomes a lot more useful i would say.

I love the new search tool and have used it a few times, howerver am away from the game this weekend. That being said, I would still like the seeking party symbol to show up next to player names, I think that helps remind people that you can set yourselves to seeking party, and it helps people for pickup groups. If I could see another player with a seeking flag over his/her head, I'd be more likely to check, talk, and invite them to a party.

I think Yoshi said that was planned for 2.0 but I hope it doesn't take that long to add that one feature.
