I like Red Mage alot, weapons, skills, gameplay. The Red Mage is awsome.

I will stick with Samurai. Even if it gets nerfed I will still play Samurai. The job is just that fun to me and I enjoy the playstyle. I think the better question is who will stick with it if they get nerfed.

There's kind of two different questions to respond to here.
I play a lot of different jobs and am really enjoying SAM so far. I will "stick with" it to 70 and use it sometimes from there when I want a change of pace, but I won't actually be changing (nor did I plan to change) what I consider my "main" job.

It's now my main class.![]()
I've had fun with many jobs, but my main is now RDM. I'll still play WAR, DRG, and level others, but RDM is such a kick, I'm concentrating on it.
I never picked them up to begin with.

I've been a dedicated AST main since HW and have no intention to change, but thought I'd chime in to say that I'm happy to see both new jobs get a lot of positive reception on style and gameplay mechanics. Most people I know who have tried them have been pretty satisfied with them, even if they don't plan on changing their "main" jobs.

I am to become a Goddess of Magic, so I plan to stick with RDM for a long while.
I played a tank in ARR and raided as a healer, with HW I tossed most of my ties and connections due to the my busy work schedule, and started new as DPS.
To that time SE didn't screw me over once, in fact at least twice if not more often. First they made PLD a bunch of crap, that if I wanted to raid, I would have been switching to WAR or DRK.
Even my favorite class that was AST, wasn't that great till much later in the expansion, making me have to chose between SCH or WHM.
So I decided lets do SMN and play the game solo. I enjoyed it very much, even so I did raid once a week with a very casual group, it wasn't anything comparable to old ARR, server firsts and being in extremely hardcore fc's/statics.
I took a look at SMN as SB launched, because I wasn't falling for the bahamut train, in fact I always disliked the pet system that came with smn, but I loved the mobility it has over BLM, and the dmg on both aoe as well as single target, when played correctly during HW, wasn't something I could pass up on.
Sure enough SB comes around, SMN is just like some other classes, a absolute nightmare to play in my personal opinion, and it has nothing to do with the class being OP or non OP, there's specific things I am looking at, when playing jobs.
First and foremost I would like to enjoy the job I am playing and trying to min max, and not feel like I am forced to do some kind of alpha or beta testing on unfinished products.
I was about to take a break, and that only 2 days after SB was in EA, but then I thought to myself, lets take a look at RDM. I fell in love with the job, and I probably will main it or stick with it for now, however I do have to say, in the higher 60s and also at 70, I get the feeling of being bored.
If somebody thought that playing PLD in ARR was boring with their waltz (1,2,3,1,2,3) and that HW was too complex with their 10000+ keys, then wait till you reach SB.
I have to press like 5 buttons, there's no so called set rotation, it's a priority system and while I don't mind it, and the dmg output isn't bad either, I find myself sitting in dungeons nearly falling asleep.
I haven't tried many other jobs yet, but will do that soonish, maybe I can find something that's a bit more "complex". Time will tell, for now I stick with RDM, and sorry for the long text but I think that just saying :RDM is amazing, good job SE, love RDM etc. isn't my style and doesn't give a real insight.

I'm DRK main, but I always have a DPS and Healer I keep up to date in case I want to play another role. In 2.0, my DPS was DRG. In 3.0 I switched to MCH. Now for 4.0 I've switched it to RDM and I have no intention of dropping it as my DPS main. Same with AST (my healer).
