So,... who's sticking with RDM/SAM after the hype train passes?

Samurai is pretty much the only normal DPS class right now, the rest is weak or nerfed. I will be main SAM unless they nerf him down into the hole where most classes sit now. Or unless they fix tanks, but I hardly believe thats gonna happen. Right now the game is full of broken classes, so SAM and RDM are truly the only actual options.

I've seen so many people fail at playing red mage that I just lost all faith in anything. Seen too many people hardcasting raise or verthunder/aero instead of jolting then casting the long cast. It's explained to you in THREE different ways. Once when you unlock the job it tells you to look over everything, the Job NPC EXPLAINS it to you in a quest, and EVERYONE ELSE playing it is showing you.

I'm of the mindset that if people can't play what is easily the lowest skill-cap job in the game that they shouldn't even play. I'm normally not that type of person, but if you're failing at the easiest thing the game can offer you're just a lost cause to me.

Well its being dumbed down even more in the future supposedly, once things settle. So perhaps at that point they'll grasp the basics. Then again, if they could handle basic things I suppose we wouldn't be where we are now lol. So who knows. Off to a harder mmo again for me. I like this game but the patch pushed it a little too much into the simplistic for my tastes. The game is a mess pre 70. Which granted isn't end game but making it so tedious basically means 'skip potion (for the boredom) or gtfo. Just hope I can find one of those 'harder mmo's' that the white knights tell me there are 'loads of'. Havent found one yet.

I was once a Warrior, then became Dragoon. Red Mage & Samurai are both fun despite me haven't leveled them up far enough yet. It will be a toss up which I'll main, but I'm sticking with my bread & butter Dragoon for right now.

Red Mage. With Scholar dead, what's there to go back to?

Red Mage has a very flexible, mobile, bursty, mp effecient, is the most utility soaked class in the game. It is AST of the DPS class, in terms of dev love.

Well... SAM turned out to be quite fun. It gets decently paced as you level, it's got enough nuances to make mastery nontrivial and the glams are good.

I'll see if other jobs can catch my attention, but right now, it's a clear favorite.
