    Xmas Music Glitch

Wasn't sure where I should put this. I love the Xmas music. Far superior to FFXI but there is a Glitch. If you take the airship to another city then that cities theme kicks in and does not change unless you either zone and return or perform some action with a different theme. This is a minor annoyance I agree biut it become disconcerting when you use return to go to another city with the 1st cities theme still playing. When you reach you new destination the old city's theme does not change. Strange listening to Limsa's theme in Ul'Dah. I know it cannot be fixed for this years event but it something to look into for next year.

Didn't happen to me so far <.<
Something similar happened when finishing a quest that used a special theme in an instance and then returning to the non-instanced version. The default city theme overwrote the seasonal one.

I can confirm this. I took the airship from Gridania to Ul'dah and when I got out into the city it was the normal Ul'dah music. Not only that but when I later teleported back to Gridania the Ul'dah music was still playing. I went back to the character select screen and re-entered the game and that fixed it.

One time when there was event music in Gridania I started a class quest that played the original Gridanian theme, and it kept going even after I left Gridania. I ran all the way to Hrystmill with it playing. It was neat running through the woods listening to the Gridanian city music. I wish they'd let us choose our own tracks from the OST for each area.

What they should do is follow Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker's lead. Give us an item that, while equipped, allows us to listen to any music we want. Make it some kind of a magical music linkpearl or something lol. It's worked into the game world and it's functional.

That was also in MGS4, which predated Peace Walker, no?

Ah was it? Well at any rate, same idea. Though in Peace Walker it only had to be in your inventory to play music.

This appears to be a permanent glitch, irregardless of seasonal events. The only ways it appears that you can reset it properly is to do either a hard zone i.e. enter and leave wards or to do do some action that has different dedicated music.

Yea this is just how the game is put together atm. I think I've figured it out for the most part. The city music is part of the cutscene when the airship lands, so it keeps playing afterward. If you skip the airship cutscenes you won't get the regular city music.

When you teleport from one city to another, their music stays the same since the holiday music is playing and the game doesn't prompt a music change since they should be the same normally.
